Should I move from UK to Los Angeles, CA?

Sounds like an amazing opportunity.

First off, you're 26 this year - that's very young. As a result, option 3 would definitely be off the cards. Cheltenham or L.A.? Doesn't really compare, no offence to Cheltenham.

Option 2 sounds the best, if you can trust your boss and the 'handshake deal'.

If not, Option 1 would be best. You might just have to eat the potential exchange rate and tax issues - and it could be well worth it for the experience.

If you can take the babies too, definitely go.
 
Option 1,because you might not like it and times are hard in the uk to find decent jobs,(depending on your skills),and it's always a safer bet to keep one foot in the door !
 
As everyone says, go for it mate, you obviously have skill doing what you do, as others have said, no commitments or ties here so why not. You regret things you don't do more than the things that you do do (haha yes I said do do). if I was in your shoes I would be gone for sure. :)
 
I'd probably go for it too :) seems like there's nothing strongly holding you back, and you may not find the time or have the same opportunity in the future to do something like this.
Just have to make sure you keep your babies safe though! keep reading too many stories about honda's being targeted. Probably get some attention since it's rhd too.

I work for Zurich Insurance / Farmers Insurance, in their IT Security division. My job title is security technology consultant.. Its fun, and exciting in a nerdy way. So far ive been out to Johannesbourg and Moscow in additional to LA for short assignments which keeps thing interesting. Regardless of what happens I hope to travel more as I rather enjoy it

Ah yeah, I watched Ross kemp on gangs last night... Funnily enough featured LA. I drove a bit whilst I was out there and it seems über difficult to know if your in a good or bad area... It seems to change street to street.

Ha yeah, owing to rhd I would worry about attracting the wrong type of attention most definitely. Trying to get an idea for property prices in LA and it looks to get a 2 or 3 car garage is very expensive! So might have to think about taking only 1 along


General consensus is.... GO? Lol :bow:
