Si8pny's EK4 K20 >>

Mapping Monday,

So today I headed down to Eurospec for Romain to map the car.

It made 217.3BHP@ the fly 181.6BHP @ the wheels with 170 lb of torque.

The difference on the road is amazing just pulls like a train, will get used to it at this power before going down the RBC and 70mm TB route

Great build Simon! loving your progress so far.

Can I ask 2 things..

-How did you rate Romain @ Eurospec, heard good things myself and it is likely I will be heading there for a map in the near future.

-What earthing wires you using? Are they part of a kit or did you get them made up individually? I like the braided-nesss :nice:

Romain was excellent, the car drives so much nicer now, the power is progressive aswell. He deserves all the good things that others have said about him and I would recommend him to anyone.

Im not sure, think they are custom ones R-Motion made up for me.

Love it!! Lets play!!! ;)

Sometime next week?

Can I ask,

How are you still finding the Whiteline ARB kit. I see you've had it on there some time now. An the value is great compared to the likes of ASR /BWR. The brace doesn't look as sturdy as the others in terms of sheer thick billet-ness on initial pics I've seen.

Is the brace Aluminium? and whats weight/thickness like?

Cheers.

Its a great ARB kit, The brace feels like a think steel compared to aluminium, There isnt a huge amount of weight to it.

For the price I would certainly recommend it!

So 3rd time ring trip, 1st time with the K20 but it wasnt all smiles :nono:

had a great few laps, broke the 9 minute barrier on a lap with traffic and got stuck behind a slow M5!

It could easily break 8.30 round there.

Then I did a lap with an italian guy who paid me for a lap, Went a little too maximum attack and lost the back end at the top of 5th gear while going through the left Kesselchen (had taken it the exact same way as the other laps)

Spun right and left a few times then I hit the water logged grass (Had rained all day the day before) and i gave a little love tap to the armco.

Damaged the front bumper, passenger light & wing. bent the rear toe arm and damage the rear 1/4 panel and smashed the rear light.

Was gutted. Luck that I didnt damage any armco however I still had to pay 288 euros for the clean up of all the mud that I dragged on track.

the damage that I did to the car altho its mostly cosmetic the rear 1/4 is going to be a nightmare to repair, Hence the wanted thread for some pre facelift headlights.

Just so lucky to get away with what I did!

Gutted for you mate :( like you said though it could have been alot worse!

Should have just left the track straight away to avoid charges, that's what I did haha

haha I tried but it was abit obvious, had a €288 fine for cleaning mud that I had dragged on the track.

just super lucky!

Wow Si you really got away pretty lucky, could have been so much worse.

Bet that was a brown pants moments.

Chin up though, won't take much to fix it up... Excuse to get a facelift front end conversion started?

Yeah huge moment! just so lucky to get away with what I did, not long til you go now is it?

Nah I like prefacelift too much haha

We leave on Tuesday.. Get to the ring Wednesday afternoon for a few laps into the evening. Hope I don't stack the ek9. Got some fresh ad08s on it yesterday to give me the best shot

At least you tried lol. The charges for an accident are a total joke IMO.

So as the rebuild has been underway i thought i would upgrade some parts. Have fitted cyberspeed rear to and camber arms and have recently fitted these fibre glass wings that I got from Spirit9

The fit is really good, Im not to fussed on the vent but hey because racecar right? haha

Wing doesn't look that bad actually! Glad your sorting it :)

Wings look alright si will look better when painted, you got away lucky with that bump too haha

Fender look great Simon. I was eyeing them up on their site also.....

Shame about what happened, but hey ho, at least you were having fun.

Do they feel very strong? or are they any wider than OEM?

Yeah for fibreglass they have alot of strength in them. They are slightly wider then OEM but only about 1-2mm
