i really want too do this instead of spending money on bolt ons:nice:

im from ireland and unfortunately dont have the mechanics to do the build myself so i rang irelands main honda tuning/engine conversion company icetronix this morning to ask how much it would be to swop the b16b for a jdm b18 fitted using my b16b as trade in he said he cant give me a price as his bosses werent in but advised me to find out what parts i need/want to keep etc like gearbox!

so im asking you guys the pros!hahaha what do i need/should i keep?

i would like to keep my gearbox as its a healthy one:nice:

depending on price i wont be doin this for a few months and i want this to be as cheap as possible as i dont have an endless supply of cash like some of you guys:p

so basically what do i need? what do i keep? and how much should i pay including labour and my b16b in exchange?

thanks guys:clap:

400-500euro labour id guess and keep your own gearbox, its hard to get anyone willing to accept a trade-in of your b16b these days...

You'd basically only need the engine, throttle body, and ecu (if your ek9 is a facelift you'll need a conversion harness for the ecu).

you can use your distributor, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, gearbox etc.

its straight forward really.

thanks guys rep added:nice:

id have to make sure id get a jdm b18c as theyre like 195bhp am i right and uk b18c are 180-185bhp correct me if im wrong!

apart from rocker cover how can i tell its a jdm b18

On engine JDM b18c will have "B18C" wrote and no more, UK spec will have "B18C6" so if there is a number after the b18c it aint jap:nice:

just a thought, there is pleanty better/cheaper places than icetronix man!

is there man?:) ive heard some bad stories bot icetronix but dont know anywhere else which could supply and fit the engine?

ant advice on other places more than welcome:nice:

do you not know any mechanics or anyone even handy?these are one of the easiest swaps out there, ive done a few now easy do it in a weekend including going drinking!

Keep Engine loom for sure to save you a bit of time and keep your standard mounts. If your getting JDM your going to have a good LSD in the box anyway. I can get you a number for a guy up north in belfast. He knows endless information and gives the best advice. He's called Type2.

the euro-sterling exchange rate has gone to the dogs again  but just out of curiousity how much was your b18swap?

Planning on doing the swap myself but where can i get the 2 bolt style drivers mount thats needed?

Thanks
