Maybe are you just jelous a younger/new driver, driving a better faster car? or something you wished you owned at this moment in time?
Insurance is stupid as it is....
Way off the mark.
I bet your a PCSO or something
As is that.

It's a problem but not one that will make me cry myself to sleep over. It's a piece of metal, it may be a possession I enjoy but the health and well being of me, my friends and family are what I consider important, a car is not. If you value a car over and above friends and family I'm glad I'm neither of those in relation to you.
Young male drivers with modded cars are statistically the biggest insurance risk. All the gear and no idea, willy waving driving tactics to impress their passengers or racing other like minded prats on the the road are all contributing factors. Not all young drivers will cause an accident or a serious/fatal but a very high number do, hence why their insurance premiums are so high.
Ignorance and arrogance is something displayed by most young lads behind the wheel. When you're the other side of 30 you might have a different view to what you do now who knows.
I can't. I'm only 20, all these speciality companies will only insure over 25's. Also these companies, although often better than the larger companies, are not always cheaper.
I reckon i have phoned every single insurance company, when trying to insure my car. All think i am going to cost them an obsene amount of money.
I am a young guy and I am not an idiot and do not drive dangerously. I value my car too much to drive it in an stupid manner, and i resent being classed as one due to my age. But i can accept that there is a large amount of idiots my age.
Insurance costs are unacceptable in my opinion
What brought you to make that assumption - a car does not mean more to me than family of friends, a car is important to me as it is not just a piece of metal to me and many people on this forum and many would agree with me. Put it this way forums like this wouldnt exist and we would all drive the same car if your "its only a piece of metal" opinion was fact.
If you wouldnt lose sleep about someone actually vandalising your property that you have worked your ass off to pay for and spend countless hours of your life that you cannot have back slaving over it as its your pride and joy and hobby then you need to have a meeting with yourself buddy.
The above statistics bear no relation to non declaration of modifications.
What dont you understand about that?

I once was in the same position as you, I had a GT Turbo and the cost to insure it in the first year was pretty much the same as what I had spent on buying the car itself. It will get easier as you get older and you get some NCB built up.
Just keep trying all the insurers you can find and playing them against each other. If they want your money they will try and beat the other quotes you're getting. If you've not got a cat 1 alarm fitted get one, if you can limit your mileage do so and adjust the policy accordingly. If you have access to a garage use it and declare that too. If you have a parent with a good long driving history and clean licence get them on your policy as a named driver if they use it occasionally. It's perfectly legal and it can bring your premium down.
It's something that can be replaced, therefore it's of little importance. An inconvenience perhaps but not worth getting upset over
Insurance companies should not be allowed to take advantage and make obsence profits. Its the the cause of people making fraudulent policies
That is the most retarded thing ever.. I am sure if any member on here got there car vandalised and had to pay out there own hard earned money to fix it they would be up set. Everyone on this forum (except you) is here as there cars are there pride and joy and they enjoy and build their cars the way they want them and for someone to come and damage that it would surely be more than an Inconvenience
i can see both sides of it,
yes you are breaking the law by not declairing mods, but what about when you spent cash on a bloody good alarm to lower the risk of theft, for them to turn around and say oh that wont make a difference to your premium,
then hi id like to declair my tints, oh well that will be 100 more on your premium **** OFF, or paying for a snap off boss kit that means theres no steering wheel in the car at night, car aint going far without it yet, they hike the price up for it, dont think so, not doing myself any favours by doing it other than throwing money at them for nothing, id rather burn the cash
i had a 1.4 ek and went through the hastle and i mean HASTLE of declairing the engine fully above board, was a ****ing nightmare, got it changed to 1800cc on the v5, and you can check this on any reg checkers, then i go to insure the car and not a single company would even quote me!, if i have the cash there and willing to pay then surely it cant be that bad, no accidents, no points and 2years no claims at the time, still no!, so it forced me to drive the car insured as a 1.4 with 1.8 tax on the window
i got stopped by the police many times and popped the bonnet, and asked what engine it was, i told them, its a 1.8 vtec, and they reply, oh i didnt realise they had engines as big as that, then i reply it doesnt, i put the engine in it, and he checked i had insurance, no other questions asked.
loonsta, you seem to be getting the wrong idea here, yes its illegal but theres far worse things police should be clamping down on than this. its not this reason premiums go up, its an easy excuse, its the arsehole drivers that fly about like idiots that cause it, and more so the companys themselfs being greedy cunts, as if millions a year profit isnt enough.....
