EK9/Civic
Well, I want to buy a set for my car, but I have no idea what brake lines will fit for my car, since the ek9 didn't came to america, I want to know if I can use USDM Integra Type R brake lines ?? or Standard EJ6 96-00 Brake lines ?

Thanks for your help! :)

integra lines are really LONG in my experience, i used EM1 brake lines, my car does not have ek9 brakes though, i have integra brakes front and rear which is the same as teh em1. DONT buy ej6 brake lines cause those had drums in the rear. if you can measure your brake lines front and rear, tell me what length they are and ill contact earls's and see what they have :nice:

i HATE goodridge!! i snapped one of there lines!! lucky i was only doing a test pass and i was on my own street with no cars near by! i only use EARLS now, its a little more expensive but its the best! its the same brake line that comes with the grex/alcon brake kit. and there is a spring at the top of the line to keep it straight.

Glad you told me I was gonna buy a set. Never heard of anyone having issues but not gonna wait around till I do after hearing that! :nice:

EM1 brake lines should fit just fine ( usdm 99-00 si)
I have techna-fit, its great quality. But so is earls from what I've heard.

I will have to measure them, but I don't know how lol, I'll see what i can do.

If you want to measure you're stock lines with a ruler and a piece of string, I'll measure the techna-fit ones and we'll see if they are the same lenth.
I'm guessing the techna-fit's are going to be a tiny bit longer than stock.

use a piece of string, mark the sting for where the line starts and ends, then measure the string :nice: or use a tailors tape measure :)

Hope this helps!

hmmm those do NOT look like my em1 lines, the fittings seem to be a bit more angled.

ive been running goodridge for couple years and very happy with them, they didnt list ek4 fitment when i bought mine so phoned goodridge who said some crx listed fitment was same, there about 3-4 inches longer than stock and had 1 additional bracket which was just cut of

if they still dont list ek4 fitment id probably look for 1 of the companies mentioned above who do perfect match to oem ek4/ek9 hoses

i need to get some S/S brake lines as well, can anyone tell me which ones to get i am from UK :nice:

hmmm, has anybody tried asking dut? he has and ek9 and he's in the us.

Hi, i am tracking my EK4 for the 1st time in MAY and i was interested in replacing the stock rubber lines for some decent braided ones...

i can get hold of a Goodridge & Russel set for a decent price!

'Blinx' read u snapped a line on ur Goodbridge set... maybe a faulty set?

so lads, any recommendation on the 2 ive named above? any better application i could look into?

:thanks:

GOODRIDGE GLOBAL | Home

A friend of mine got braided brake lines from here for his EP3 and they are great, don't know about the application the EK but give them a call.

:)

I second that reccomendation! Theyre top-quality Teflon lines...the lines are tested to 4000psi!

As long as you assemble the ends correctly or have the swaged fittings proffesionally pressed then they last a lifetime!

I used them for the my turbo oil-feed, AN-3 its the same stuff you'd use for your brake-lines

Guide to installing the ends:
1.tightly tape the braided line where you want to cut it
2.use a 32TPI hacksaw blade or junior acksaw blade
3.cut without excessive pressure so you dont pull strands out
4.unwind tape from end (if theres a stray strand or two use snips to remove)
5.Put coller onto line and slide out of the way
6.Spread the braid evenly and press brass olive onto the inner teflon so the teflon comes upto the front ends inside the olive.
7.Press the slim-tube from the end-fitting into the middle of the olive
8.pull the collar upto it and tighten firmly but sensibly with sutable spanners that wont mark the fittings
9.inspect the bottom of the collar to make sure no stray strands are present.
10.do the same for the other end. then your line is complete!

This pic is with the AN-3 custom-made kit and a previous AN-4 swaged oil-feed line.

If you get the lengths Ill price-up making a kit with Hose-Depot direct that I use, they have all the banjo fittings in stainless, nickel etc etc.

Most SS brake hoses sold as exclusively as brake hoses will have a protective plastic coating for abrasion resistance and so debri doesn't get stuck in between the fibers and work its way into the line leading to contamination/deterioration. For this reason only I recommend a company's pre-made hoses, but if DIY hoses are your thing go for it. If you do, keep them factory length as you want your brake hose as short as possible. (technically, line is the solid steel tubing from the prop valve, hose is the flexible part we're talking about)

Im not 100% sure on this but I believe the goodridgehoses done have a protective coating in there pre-made kits. but will any of the civic pre-made kits be suitable for the EK9?
