iv seen a few people have tilted there standard spoiler
im interested

iv tried searching, but couldnt come up with anything solid

can anyone tell me how to do it?
i have a few days off coming up and that means time toying with the civic :):nice:

Easy matey.

1. Open boot and then take the plastic trim off that is obviously the part hiding the spoiler nuts.

2. Here you'll find two 10mm bolts that are on show when you take the plastic off. then another two 10mm bolts that are uncovered when you open the boot.

3. Unscrew the covered ones and then you can place washers or other spare nuts on the bolts to gain some leverage then just nut it back in place so its tilted.

thats correct, but the bolt is not long enough to rebolt it once tilited, so you wont be to rebolt but the 2 remaining bolts will hold it firmly in place. i have 12 washers on each side of mine and i havent had a problem

yeah€ i noticed that today, the bolts are tiny

im just gonna get longer bolts sorted, or see how i get on,

OMFG! Do u have any idea how happy I am that Lord Barrington brought up this topic? I've been wanting to tilt my stock spoiler for over a year so freakin bad. Never knew how to do it till now. As soon as i read this post i worked on it right away in my garage. I maxed out the angle that the stock screws [the ones closer to the front of the car] could handle. I used 2 big washers, 1 medium sized nut, and 1 extremely fat nut to hold it all together. It's very hard to explain how i stacked them. Anyways, any higher and my spoiler might fall off on the freeway. I wish it could go higher but the stock screws are too short. LOL. Thank u so much for this thread!

Before the tilt.

After the tilt. It's MORE TILTED in REALITY. Trust me. I don't know why it looks LESS TILTED in this PICTURE.

I want to see how tilted urs is. 12 washers on each side sounds like a lot. LOL

haha well no problem micheal,
yours looks ace, i want mine to look like that, :nice:

got some longer bolts sorted an gonna do it soon when i have some spare time,
its only gonna be a temp job though till i get the spooon :)

I decided to tilt mine even more! About 4 hours ago I increased the height by 2X! here is a before and after pic [before tilt and what it is now at it's final angle]. Again, the spoiler looks MORE TILTED in REALITY than in this PICTURE.

lord barrington, you really dont need to bolt the short bolts back in. mine is tilted this much and none of the washer fall out because of the weight and down pressure of the spoiler keeping the bolt through the washers

have a look here

do wat i did and get to small sockets and put them on.nothing can fall out as the bolt is sitting in the socket.i had a nut half way up the small bolt before putting the socket on but my boot wouldnt close lol so the socket was enough and seemed to tilt it more than any of the pics posted.

now that really does look mint

and did you use the original tiny bolts?

Yes. I did use the original tiny screws. Because I tilted the sing so much, I did not put the 2 original bolts from the back back on. I took pic of my whole car. This is what the Spoiler looks like all together. So Lord Barrington, just do it asap. It's easy and it makes the car so much freakin nicer! BTW. For my final adjustment. I ditched all the washers and nuts and fat bolt i used. I used an extremely fat hollow screw/bolt looking thing. Since it's hollow, it will not slide away when I'm driving.

Were did you put ur washers in? any pics of them?

ill get some pics for you mate,

why tilt the spoon spoiler? its all ready got a tilited lip

done.

tried that first, though wasnt enough tilt
so inspired by Michael i wedged the spoiler up, but since i didnt have a fat bolt, i cut up some wood, proper bodged ha

i put rubber on the bottom to hope it would help it not to slip :) i also quickly painted it the colour of my car so you couldnt see the wood :nice:

and the final result

though i still dont think its tilted enough, but i cant seem to get it any higher, but ill try to cut some more wood

OMG Lord Barrington! Why would u use the wood!?! A lot of people is going to make fun of you cuz it's extremely ghetto. OMG. Dude don't do that! LOL. If u don't have a very fat screw/bolt like i did. Use a wrench socket with a good hieght that u don't use anymore. U don't have to paint the socket or anything, just keep it silver cuz it looks cool already. BTW, i see tilt from ur pictures but remember what i said. Ur spoiler is probably more tilted than what it looks like in the picture. Keep finding the right height for wrench sockets. Keep increasing it until u get to the point right before you CAN'T OPEN THE TRUNK ALL THE WAY UP ANYMORE cuz that will happen which I did to mine. At this point, it means that u have maxed out ur tilt with the stock spoiler and screws and all. If it's maxed out like mine, it will looks extremely nice in person/reality. So yeah, don't do the wood. It's very embarrasing.
