Hi there guys,
a friend of mine have a DC2 96 with Tein Flexx suspension, but is having a problem with the adjustment (soft-hard) for the street, could you please post your setup to run street with this suspension? becuase his setup is too hard at the moment and he dont know what is the recommended.
i will appreciate any help!
regards

I have a second hand EDFC for sale if your interested.

to start with, check the pre load on the springs,
car jacked up,
slacken the two rings directly under the spring untill the spring is just loose, then re tighten the rings so they are tight against the spring (no slack) but not compressing it,

next, turn the damper force adjuster on the top fully anti clockwise, this should be now at its softest setting,

re adjust the damper force a couple of clicks at a time untill the ride becomes satisfactory(the edfc that duncan is selling will make this easier and more fun to play with:nice:)

if its still to hard you may want to look at getting different rate springs.

do you have a recommended set?
like 8 clicks on front and 8 on the back or something like that?

My friend has a set of Flex's with EDFC on his ek9 and has them set on the softest setting for everyday driving. It is still firm with the heavy rate springs. On the track it is cranked up to about 3 - 5 from the hardest setting.
The EDFC is a real God Send, if i was to actually have my own ek9 i would poss just go for Tein for the sole reason they do the EDFC.

that is some thing you will have to work out yourself with trial and error, everyone has a different prefrence when it comes to stiffness settings,

start from softest and move up a couple of clicks at a time.

i just hope your friend is adjusting ride height form the lower collar and NOT from the spring preload adjustment...

I have Tein Superstreets on my UKDM. The damper adjusters have ~30 clicks adjustment from full soft to full hard.

With them set on full soft I found the springs "totally" under-damped. Twas like driving a bouncy-castle! :nono:

I now have both front & rear set 10 clicks towards hard, & that seems to be about right to match the spring rate on the road..:p

The ride quality feels like OEM (important for UK roads) & totally controlled...

Just waiting for some better weather to fine tune them front-to-rear...

I believe the Tein Flex' are more track orientated than my setup so a softer damper setting is always safest to work from as has been stated. Just start on full soft & adjust to suit is my best advice

chris,
how are you finding the tein coilovers.
I need to get some coilovers for my teg but cant make up my mind between the tein ones and an edfc controler or a set of the new skunk2 ones ( pro c or pro s) where you can lower the suspension without effecting the spring rate as it is adjustable on the bottom part of the strut body.(i am going to sell my teg si to fund)
and while im at it i will re bush the lot with a hardrace kit i think
