The Price of our 9's

Low Mileage minters still get the £££ same goes for 98spec tegs with low mileage, Looking at 6k AT LEAST,

All i see it as is even more reason not to sell it and keep pouring money into it, Ill never get back what i've paid so may as well just keep on building :D

I'm with you on that one Neil :nice:

x2 unless i was offered a while ransom:D

agree 100%
would never sell my ek9 anyway so doesn't really bother me
it not only the price but the overall condition of the ek9s in ireland that annoys me. Be prepared for anything if your coming over:nerv:

some 9's in ireland at the min going from €2500-€4000 so a friend of mine and i went to look at a few but they were complete dogs, you would prob need to spend a good few €€€'s to make them look have decent again,

be happy with the value of ur 9s, as said in ireland there cheap as chips.
you could get one easily for 4000k euro

A friend of mine said they aren't really worth that much in Japan but of course import prices and dealers profits means the price at the UK is much more expensive than it initially would be value'd at.

So true. I picked mine up for 4500 USD in Japan and had shipped/registerd for free (military benefits). I couldn't afford to buy one over here (UK) for what some believe them to be worth. After all, it's still a Honda Civic , and someone pointed out that M3's run for around the same price in the UK.

once again i think the ek9 is a victim to JDM Super tax just like Spoon, Mugen, etc etc....

as my freind with a Jordan always tells me its just a white civic.

but also to remember we are in the middle of a recesion people are losing there jobs they cant keep a car with expensive insurance, road tax etc...

so if they cant sell there pride and joy they have to except a lower price or they wont sell it, like the guy who i bought mine off of, he had it up for £5700 but had been made redundant, i offered him £5000 and he almost ripped my arm off, times are tough

im sure one day the price will rise again, but like everyone has said lets just enjoy owning them:nice:

everything is getting hit cars, bikes, houses, jobs etc.Look at the price of 96 spec tegs these days a few ive seen for 2k maybe ruff but still! A clean one goes for 3-3500 and is still going to drop its a buyers market out there

You can never put a price on FUN and PASSION...

F*** what its worth... enjoy it....

Although they are selling for less I would still pay 10k for a new one if there was one around! They should defo do a 15 year anniversary model

I think people concentrate on the re-sell value too much, even before buying a car.. If you bought the car with the intention of enjoying it, you should just enjoy it!

You only live once, enjoy it while it lasts.

Your friend has obviously never owned an EK9? Yes, lets hope the price rises again. But the supply is not high on the EK9's, so those with mint examples are always in a good position to gain above average prices if they EVER sell.

Agree 100%, but few people understand what passion really means for the Type R concept, especially for an EK9, after all it's 'just a white Civic' :naughty: :))

Good man :nice: I would too. If I can keep my car in showroom condition when it's 15 years old, I'll sell it to you for 10k :D :naughty:

Will it have 0 miles on the clock tho?:D
A k20 ek9 re-release would be unbelievable, with a more modern interior and a stripped out basic option, I'd work 5 jobs for one!

Totally agree. You may continue to build your 9 and possibly never sell it (same attitude I have with my EG) but do you see yourself wanting, and possibly buying, another Type R? Perhaps just to keep standard and have as a more comfy/daily type car. Perhaps a mint DC2/5, maybe an EP3...Possibly a mint EG Civic, perhaps a SiRII etc? I quite fancy a 9 but I could see myself perhaps wanting to do stuff to that too... Btw, this wasn't directly just aimed at Neil ;p

i think unfortunately neil its a sign of the times and not only for ek9s but all cars. it doesnt make it any easier as well with rising insurance premiums especially on imports so less people are able to insure them nowadays as well. i couldnt believe how cheap i had to sell my b18d 9 in the end went for peanuts with all the goodies as well.

as said just enjoy driving it and dont worry about its depreciation

Dan I wouldnt say it had alot of goodies on when u sold it it was basically a rolling shell with. Engine.
