Thinking of saying bye to my ek9 already...

YOUR GETTING OLD LOL......I am 33 man & i have an ek9. Dont get me wrong i do feel a liitle bit too old to be driving it but it doesnt make me feel that i need to sell it. I will have that car forever but i also have a jdm ep3 as a daily coz i dont drive the ek9 much. NEVER SELL IT MAN YOU WILL MISS IT

Im nealy 29 and ive had my 9 for about 4 months, use it every day as my dd and i love it.your only as old as you feel:),personally not fond of vag stuff but thats just me

27 this year and i still have my EK9 and we have just bought an EP3 fudge what other people think!

An EK9 to me is an engineering masterpiece a true drivers car, no other way to explain it.

A Seat Leon is a rebrand of a VW Golf which is just a normal car thats in the market for normal drivers/normal everyday people to buy to have a little more fun in their daily commute, i'm not saying I dont like Golf GTI's or Leon Cupra's but they aren't intended to be drivers cars never was or ever will be cos they get bigger and heavier every year.

I guess it depends what your looking to get out of the car, i'd never tell anyone to keep their car because if they are losing interest in it and thinking about selling they will sell it on in the future even if you convince them to keep it even just for another month or so, its like having an itch you just need to scratch.

I'm 24 this year and I don't consider the 9 immature. I did the whole 'young life crisis' thing and blew a load of cash on an R34 Skyline, sure it was fast but after 10 months I missed having a small hatch for the shear amount of fun and chuck ability they offer. If you want more modern, I hate to say this, but could you not comprimise with an EP3?

I was 28 in December and I'm still building up my Jordan. This is a car i will never sell. Dose not matter how "OLD" i get. You are only as old as you feel. But on the other hand i also have a Mondeo Estate  for my work that i use everyday.

I also have a Seat Ibiza Cupra R and hated the thing. So each to there own :nice:

im 33 with a ek9 I get the old oh grow up /you have a boy knacker car but people who understand motorsport and cars and honda engineering apreciate them know why I have a "old civic " a boss at my work is into his cars had escort cosworths ,now got a exige

I took him out in my 9 last year and he was blown away with my civic could not beleave it was a 1600 and at my work now he tells guys what a amazing car I have

no other car will compare to my ek9 I had a tuned dc5 but it doesnt have the go cart feel of the civic

I did the sensible grown up thing after I sold my dc5 and went to a gt tdi mk4 golf but all the time I had it I was kidding myself that it was ok

Looks like she will be staying after all...gearbox is out for flywheel, clutch, 4.9 FD, shift bushing kit fitting. Also just ordered new torque mounts, extended short shifter, skunk2 gearknob & spoiler tilt brackets.... lol

Thats good news, sounds like its getting some nice goodies :nice:

Wow I was thinking I was to old but I'm only 22
An people on here are like 33 so I think that gives
me an excuse to stick with another 11 years :D

I think it's just because it's the winter, you get bored because you can't push your civic in this weather and you fancy something comfy, but then the spring/summer will come back in and I guarantee you will regret selling it

i get the exact same feeling!:))

I turned 30 last year, owned a 98 EK 1.4i civic in 1999 for four years and only had to take it to dealers once for a faulty door actuator. Changed to a mkIV Golf GTI in 2004 had low miles and owned for four years (was a popular car at the time) - it was a big mistake, had too many problems with it. Was lured into thinking the civic was getting old and golf was flash car. At the times spare parts were very expensive, even bought the VAG-COM tool but decided to get rid when the main dealer couldn't even connect to CAN-BUS to fault find. The engine had less than 40k on it, it had mayoanise gunk around the oil cap, the drivers window didn't roll down due the electrical problems. Promise myself not to go near VAG again. This did put me off german cars - but I own two rwd ones now and there enjoyable drives, just cant not expect them to be as raw as an EK9. I have an EK4 as a daily driver.

Just feel like im getting old (23 in april) and i should be driving something more mature... :( lol

Feeling old? You must be joking, or some sort of Benjamin Button :) If you leave your EK9 now (which is a credit to you, that you even own one at that age) you will only come back to it later! But then again, I encourage you to try other cars as well, without that you can't compare.

I'm 30 odd, but don't really feel that old driving my EK9. You will probably miss it if you sell up, but will appreciate it after owning a few other cars. Maybe come back to one when you feel EVEN older, that way you'll feel younger again? :win:

Just thought I would say, I am 25 this year.Iv had 7 Hondas 6 being Type Rs, I have just sold my 320bhp DC5 and gone to an Ek9, I am 100% Happy with how the car drives etc and it reminds me of when I had my Ek4 at 18 and why I was hooked on Hondas, as much as I loved my DC5, the old school B engines is what got me hooked at a young age! I dont think its about being imature at all! I also have a Nissan Navara but when I get spair time I am making my Ek9 beter or driving it:)Love it

Amen to that! Im 28 going on 29 in may and had my 9 for about 10months, i definatley dont feel too old to be driving it! I sometimes think the decat and spoon cat-back feels/sounds a bit much for my age, but i always take it back after a nice drive through the countryside! :naughty:

I'm 28 and only bought my 9 last year :D I've been driving 2003 Mazda 323 2.0 Sport for the past few months, nice nippy car, easy to drive but Booooriiiing! Actually every single car I've driven since I got the 9 feels boring! I can't wait to get the 9 back on the road!
