Toyota GT86 / Scion FR-S v Nissan 370Z v Used Porsche Cayman S

That was a good fair road test, shame the Toyota is only 200bhp!

No-one complains with the EP3 only have 200bhp...

Besides, we're all into tuning here, this car is ripe for that!

Got a turbo'd one on Forza with 320bhp and it's brilliant. :nice:

yes but the ep3 is probably lighter and has a lot less drive train losses

but at the end of the day we are quite used to toyotas being slow cars

put it up against hondas 2 seater roadster the s2000 and it will be bye bye toyota

They are 2 completly different cars!

It's about the same weight and the same power, yes the drivetrain losses might be a bit less in the Honda, but still no-one really complains about them being slow.

I want to see a NASP 2500cc 8000rpm screamer with about 270bhp. :nice:

3 weeks until mine arrives :nice:

But are you used to Subarus being slow cars? As it is more of a Subaru than a Toyota really!

It's not as slow as advertised.... and it's pretty much the same weight as an EP3 so similar power to weight. And is the EP3 RWD??? 7 seconds to 60 is no slower than any stock Type R, not in real world terms.

Besides, Toyota designed it to be modified and by the looks of it an ECU map on a standard engine is happily 10-20hp more, especially in the torque dip lower down in the rev range (sound familiar?? Lol.).

They have lots of parts developed stateside and japan and already turbo kits available to buy! The S2k may be faster but has a higher centre of gravity and similar weight again so won't be quite as chuckable.....

It could have had more power but it doesn't.... I love how people get obsessed with 0-60 times. Those people wont get this car at all and that's fine. But IMO that's not what these are about. I think these hold more in common with your old Type R's than you'll believe, hence why I got rid of the EK9 to get one!

I have driven th new MX5 with 160hp 2.0 and I really didn't feel I was losing that much compared to a 200hp Type R and the handling was mental :D Pure HP numbers are only part of the story.
