Trimming shift linkage to clear exhaust after fitting race spec shifter..

I've fitted a Tegiwa Race Spec shifter to my EK and the linkage is now fouling the exhaust..

The part circled in green is fine, it clears the exhaust well.

The bit circled in red is the offending part, it doesn't seem to do anything?
Apart from maybe add some extra weight to the shifting mechanism?

Has anybody cut the extra part off to stop it fouling the exhaust before?

I know I could lower the exhaust on some longer hangers, but I'd rather keep it as it is :)

cut it off mate.
can i ask if this short swifter is stainless or aluminum ?
