Right then guys i'v finally decided to get my ass into gear to get some pictures and some info up of my b16b turbo build. The engine is currently in bits so i feel now would be the best time to start this thead.

Engine Spec's :

Ported B16B Head (Was polished as well, this was for my last build)
B16B Block
B18c5 NPR pistons and rings (my c/r is around 9.3:1)
ARP Rod bolt (rods have been resized)
ARP head studs
Stock Cam's & valve train
Vented block and rocker cover (4x 10an hoses)
New OEM bearings ( done to how i want the oil clearences :) )
New Oil pump
Oem head gasket
Injectors ? ? ( I'm still thinking  )

Homemade turbo kit:
Garret A.r.60 M11 turbo (Got it for a good price, it looks a good size for what i want)
Baileys Dump valve
Tial wastegate
Cast manifold
Silicon hoses, pipes, clamps, ect...

EMS:

P28 with Ectune and a GM EBC (Tuned by me )

As you can see there is nothink really "special" about this build apart from that its a B16B and not a B16a or B18C. Which i'm not bothered about because i'm not really after a crazy amount of power, 250-280 BHP and reliabilty will be fine for me.

This build will be going on for the next couple of months or so, so dont expect it to be fully tuned next week because i simply havent got the funds at the moment.....

P.s. I'm not going by the bearing clearences in the picture. I used a set of ACL bearings to work out what Honda bearings to get.

As you can see through by looking at the picture ACL are nearly 0.0020 Honda recommend 0.0009-0.0017 clearence for caps 1,2,4 and 5 number 3 is 0.0012-0.0019. So its only number 3 that would be in spec.

Cheers guys i'v put a lot of hard work and time into this build so it should be sweet when its finished. You wouldnt guess how long i'v spent just cleaning the engine out.... :))

Quite right mate, do it right 1st time and less expense in future! like somone quoted on the forum before "a clean engine is a healthy engine"

respect for doing the tuning, etc yourself! :drive:

what catch can/breather set up you using?

Yeh, a clean engine is certainly a healthy engine. The last thing you want is bit of crap swimming round the engine. I will post up some pic's of my catch can setup in a bit as i'm using the net on my mobile phone at the moment so its not possible to do so. I am using a cusco catch can what i have totally modifyed with 4x 10an fittings.

Blinx, to be honest i have had my heart set on those Injector Dynamic's for a while now. I'm just debating wether or not there worth spending the extra £ on....

Do you guys think the power figuers i'm after sound ok ? Or shall i go for the 300bhp ? ? :naughty:

Oh dear its already started! Can i see more angles of that catch can, it does not appear to be vented, does it have a drain back?

It is vented blinx, and it does have a drain back. Here's some more pictures :

I can not seem to get a good picture of the drain back, but its going from the bottom of the catch can to the block.

Ah i see now, thats a tiny filter, hopefully it will be enough... I doubt the pressure is that high anyway, maybe 2-3psi max i would imagine...

It should be fine blinx, the diameter of the filter hole is quite big if you look at it in person.

Today i gave the cylinder head a decoke and managed to get it up really good. It dont look as good as it did when it was ported and polished last year but i'm still happy with the results. :))

Cheers guys ! ! Hopefully the car is going back together this weekend. I'm try to get the main and rod oil clearences where i want them. I'v got 1 main thats a bit to tight and 1 rod thats to loose. There all within Honda's spec's but i'm just fussy when it comes to clearences lol. I just loveeee oem bearings you can always get the clearences you after... :))

Oh yeah i forgot to mention the car is stayin NA for the next month or so untill i have all my turbo parts. I'm a bit broke for cash at the moment.
