Got a trackday next saturday @ Snetterton.

When i was @ Germany last year i ran 28 front and 32 rear to give me a lil over steer. However the RING is very different as the corners lefts and rights are quite equal...

Don't need the high psi rear now due to my upgrades but i am a little unsure for this track... There are only 2 left handers

Heres the track

Only a guess but i'm I'm thinking

29 psi FR
27 psi FL
30 psi RR
29 psi RL

What do you guys think?

Tyres are 195/45 16" TOYO Proxes 4 if that makes any difference. :p

For me this should be a good setup for this track, you'll have to try out setups mate!

My mate at work said that coming from revett straight towards the esses corner you have to be hard on the brakes since you will be doing 100MPH+ at this point (around 140MPH in his VX200 turbo) ready for the sharp left hand corner. So maybe a less PSI for the front tyres especially for the right hand side?

Id just go with your usual track pressures & adjust as required..

The lack of lefthanders shouldnt hamper you too much on road tyres IMO:)

I guess its hard for anyone to give any perfect advice unless they have run the same track with the same tyres, but I found with the R888's last year that running them low, around 25psi cold gave me the best results with the back end being a little loose at Snett.

I'll openly admit that last season I wasnt one for paying much attention to tyre pressures and damping settings, I left that to my service crew, but this season i'm being more involved and feeling what the car is doing so I can start to give better feedback.......the joys of being competetive :D

Enjor ur track day though matey :nice:

As chris says adjust on the day, not tried the different psi on each tyre thing. I run even or different front to rear only. On road tyres on a good dry day I would run more psi (once temps are settled), start low and see what happens at each circuit.
I found in the dry my 888's had more grip and didnt break away so much at 34 to 36psi - different to Kris, it is always a personal thing - how your car is setup, tyre type & if you like oversteer etc.
Its a sessions day so it is harder to get the psi how you want, especially on road tyres, as you will have 40mins between tracktime. Obviously I havnt been to the Ring but you will probably find your tyres at Snett will heat up a lot quicker - and go off/lose grip a lot quicker.

Lots of mixed results there thanks for the help guys knowing what i used @ germany and that my tyres will definitly be hotter @ snett. Assuming its dry i will try 26 fronts and 28 rears then go from there.

Thanks guys and roll on saturday! :D

Thanks for this too guy's, been an intresting read!:nice:
Roll on saturday lads!:drive:

i run my R888`s at 40PSI hot,, works awesomely ,,,,,,,,,,,

Really that seems incredibly high....

all the time attack guys do the same we kept playing with pressures at castle combe and nurburgring on my ek9 and my bro joe`s dc2 and this was the best feeling pressure we came up with.. :nice:

just have a play and go with what works right for yourself,, you will get it dialled in how you want it to feel..

how do you find the toyo proxes 4?
i used to run t1r`s on my vw`s and they just went to jelly after a couple hard laps on track,,
