This year I decided with the upcoming fee increase I decided to head to uni, after working for three years; all I can see is the uni life style really isn`t all its hyped up to be! Constantly in debt, surrounded by alliterate school leavers and my ek9 isn't here :(

Although as Im only two hours from home I`ve been spending a fair amount on train tickets to see the 9 every weekend. :nice:

Who else here is currently a student?

surrounded by alliterate school leavers

You fail.

But yes, I can sympathise. However, uni life is what you make of it, you can spend the whole of your life playing with cars, you can't spend it all at uni.

Go forth and drink/smoke/snort and shag yourself silly young padawan!

Amen to what kozy said, Uni is only what you make of it, you can sit back, toss it off for 3 years and leave with a 3rd, or work your bollocks off and party hard and get a respectable mark, tbh I wouldn't be getting a train back to toss one over my 9, id rather be in the SU pulling some filth!

im just finishing up mate only gets worse trust me haha i was going to stay on but with getting engaged a while back need to get into working full time with my dad.

Hahaha awesome advice there!

I never went to uni, only college. I think on the whole though you picked the best time to do it as hopefully when your done the economy might be starting to pull itself slowly toward the exit of a deep hole! lol.

You might be finding it harder aswell as going from employed to full time student is a ball ache due to the major drop in income. All the school leavers will be used to earning pennys so it's not a major change to them but once you go from working full time i bet your struggling for cash.

I had the same thing happen at college needed to make sure i got the education and work balance right as i was tempted on many occasions to miss a couple of days for extra shifts to increase my wedge! But i scrapped through in the end!

What are you doing at uni??

Dan

Sorry to hear about your dad matey, Hope he's getting/got better. I'm sure it's good for him to know his business was in good hands.

You'll have to keep us updated with all the uni stories! :D, I would love to go myself to be fair but would just be going for the wrong reasons. My education days are gone unless their a must to do with my job changing/advancing etc.

have my degree, just finished my masters degree and starting my PhD in two weeks. lont time to spend at uni but itll be worth it

Im studying English mate, its hard going!

I struggled going from earning money for a couple of years to then going back to education and working your way into debt! :((

It can be a nightmare, When i started working parttime after leaving school alongside college used to pick up £500 odd a month and think quality i'm minted! :D. Mainly because i had no expenditure!! haha.

But once you've got to the point where you need a certain figure to maintain life for the month dropping below that can be a headache!

On a good note once your income rises again after you should be quids in :D
And student loans are the best debts out of the bunch to have i suppose!
