Hi, iv recently brought an ek9 and im not sure which oil is best to put in it. Its completely standard all by an exhaust, its a T reg 99' and has done 65000 miles. Can you help? :please:

I use castrol magnatec 10w 40 in mine.. I fine it a good oil for my car..

x2 10w 40 is the recommened oil from honda and does the trick!
best to go for a decent brand; Motul, Castrol, Mobil or Silkolene to be a few :nice:

Guy - is it ok to go to s funny synth when you havent been using one? I presume thats what you mean 5w40 synth oil. You always hear its not good to go from a semi to a fully, but you know what the internet/forums are like with rumours etc.

Just want to get a decent answer. I use a 10W40 semi synth, but did notice a previous post by yourself recommending a 5w40, but didnt notice that you had specified a fully synth mix.

Ben

Hi

You're absolutely fine going from semi to full synthetic.

Cheers

I use Royal Purple fully synthetic 20w-50. works great. noticed that the hear ran smoother than a similar grade Motul.

It's a bit thick, especially when cold, but I guess you have higher air temps than us

i use motul 300v 10w-40 on my b18c
it's a full synthetic double ester oil.
i change it every 4-5.000k or every 5-6 months.
always don't forget the oil filter and use a magnetic drain bolt ! :nice:

What brand of oil filter would you recommend? ill probably use 10w 40 then cos i change oil in my cars about every 4000 miles any way

oem honda or hamp is the same top quality filter !

I've got 5-40 in at te moment but I prefer 10-40 in. After 100 miles I'm swapping it over tomorrow.

For fast road and moderate track use, then I cannot recommend Millers 5W 40 fully synthetic enough - great stuff!

Josh..

I've just swapped over to 10-40 now. It's much better. I'll only use this going on now.
