Today i went to move the mat on the passenger side as it had shunted forward and noticed the mat was very very damp.

Lifted it up and the carpet was soaking (mini puddle) never noticed this before and we have had a lot of rain today and last night.

I checked the window was shut, checked the door was shut, the firewall is not damp?

Appears to be coming from underneath almost???

Anyone else experienced this? My GF's clio does it all the time.

Bloody cars.

ive noticed this i have d car stripped at the min to fix it its coming in from under the dash stick you head under with a light and follow the white sealer up youl find the holes

think my cars the same, been noticing a damp smell in the car and went 2 have a look today and the passenger foot well damp as well, think it coming at that bung in the floor? will have another look tomz!

Mine is definitly coming down. Let it dry was fine it rained over night and was soaked again.

Bloody thing...

i told ya where the water was coming in i can put up pics to show you where they are they were in same place in my last 2 ek9s

Right people had another look today!

Before somebody asks, my ek9 hasn't been in a crash! i used 2 work in a body shop as a panel beater and the 9 looks straight!

Right what i can tell is if you look right up under the dash by where the ecu is, you can see where some panel join together there looks like there's a pin hole size hole in the silicon and there's a water mark there!

I looked in my engine bay where the battery and fuse box go and notice a crack in the silicon (thinking the silicons got hard over time, had a similar problem in the mini on the floor:(), so I'm thinking when it rain water runs down the windscreen and runs into the crack in the silicon, and runs between the panels and then through the pin hole, and then up inside your car:mad:

Hoping 2 get some white silicon in the next few days, so i can cover it in the engine bay so hopefully this will sort it:nice:

Interesting....

I will investigate mine further when i have time.

I suspect it is the same place....

:nice:

Heard a few people having problem with water in the footwell, think my friend up the roads has the same problem:mad: will have to go and see his civ, see if he has the same problem?

i to hav this problem, and livin in wales obviously i get loads of rain but wat i hav noticed is drop on the top edge of inside my passenger door, and they r to much to put down to condensation so i think i mite hav dodgy door seal, b worth a look.

in the first pic thats where mine was aswell and also same size hole on opposite side

Never on the other side as well:nono:! must be a common fault!

My driver side is dry like! but ill check it in case!

Have you sorted it now, and how did you do it?

i had the same problem in one of my civics ages ago.

turned out it was the heater matrix leaking or overflowing or something but long story short....

someone had suggested that i had overfilled my rad overflow and there was too much fluid in the system,
and it was leaking out,

sure enough i drained some of the fluid out and in 2 days all the water was gone after soaking it up and letting the car air out.

try this it may help.

id be surprised if as much water as you say is getting in though those cracks or the hole.

lots come in the hole the floor would have puddles i was thinking of using silicone but think im going to get stronger stuff thats hard removed

Weird you saying that, i went 2 have a quick look the 9 at lunch time, an when i put my hand under the glove box and a drop of water dropped onto my hand, then i looked up at the heater but it was looking dry, and thinking about it the smell inside the car smell quite sweet like!!! think ill have to take a closer look!

Anybody sorted it?

My 9 is still pissing water into the footwell:mad: It doesn't help that it been pissing it down for the last few days:mad: Iv silicon all the cracks i can find, but it still coming in, iv also taken it 2 a few garages but they cant find where it coming in as well!

Anybody has any ideas where it coming in?

its just the door seals

mainly the bit at the top beside the mirror

Cheers leek!

I had another look at the door seal today and i think your right, the door wet just under the mirror by the door hinges if you know what i mean:( it dry on the other door! Will have 2 get a new one this week! Hope it sorts the problem!

Another question do i need to get new clips when i fit the new rubber, because there are a lot like 40no small clip and 12no bigger one and they are over a £1 each, that's what iv been told!

Cheers
