To cut a long story short one of my chums & a fellow ek9 owner pulled the wires out of the ECU that were connected to vtec controller.

Now the engine management light has come on. The car will not allow me to engage vtec :((

Its bringing up fault n.o 21 which is the vtec solenoid.

however i think its the wires that connect the loom to the ecu.

anyone no where i can get these from?

its a Grey block with 4 plugs on the other side of it.

SERIAL N.O 1001879

vtec controllers require the vtec signal wire to be cut for input and output so you have removed the controller and left this wire snipped.re join it problem solved.

if yours is facelift as per your avatar vtec signal wire is on the 2nd plug in from the left a 25 pin plug middle row about 4 in from the left.
if its pre facelift, its in 1st plug on left a 32 pin middle row 5 in from right.

found the blank EXACTLY in the position you described, now, where do i attach it to?

thanks :nice:

You should have a wire in the position Shooter was telling you about. now untake the loom and look for the other part of the same wire. It Should have been connected to your vtec controller so shouldn't be to hard to find. Then just connect the 2 back together.

i have connected the wire, the engine management light has gone off. :nice:

but still cant vtec :((

Well thats not good. If the lights off and still no vtec I would check your oil level. Then check to make sure the vtec sol is working. You can make it come on by putting 12volts to it. If you can get it to work like that you know its ok and it has to be something else.

update guys, well what can i say I'm a bit special!

turns out all i had to do was remove the adaptor cable, then plug the wiring loom straight into the ECU (cheers Ian aka civicsport)

vtec kicked in yo!!!! :drive:
