Wanting to import a ek9 to states?

Hey there, Im wanting to import a ek9 to the states. And i am looking for advice. How much would it cost to import one? Would i have to travel to go look and purchase the car? How much does a ek9 cost on average? in us dollars lol. And would it be more cost efficient to see if someone in the states will sell me theres? I am 18 and have been saving up for two years now. I just wanted to see how far away from my dream :bow: Well thanks in advance guys =]
 
cant tell u how much it's going to cost, but it's going to cost u a lot to import an ek9 to the states?! as u need to convert it to LHD?! and insurance is going to kill u since u r only 18.
 
too much. not even worth it. just convert a ek hatch yourself to and ek9.
 
I thought i could keep it RHD? Thats what i want =/ RHD is for the gods lmao.. But if anyone know of any shipping costs let me know I'm trying to research on that. I dont think insurance will kill me that bad since its not going to be my DD so I will probably just have insurance during the summer then garage it during the winter. But thanks for your comments guys =]

I knew a guy that lives in southern Maryland and he had a MINT 99 EK9 imported to the states and he paid 13K USD...but it's 100% street legal.
 
he can keep it rhd and its america it wont be that much to insure him.nothing like the uk.give type r dunx a pm on here and he should be able to give you more info as he imports them
 
Thanks for the responses guys's :] i will contect both of those guys and see how much it is. I have about 7 grand saved up right now so that's probably enough for the car.. now I just gotta figure out traveling expenses and import costs haha. You guys have been very helpful. Good thing I get to keep it RHD I was freakin out there for a little.
