hi there, im marcus and from blackpool!

recently bought a 1.5i ls, 96
and though i love the car, an ek9 has been a dream of mine for ages

so i want to make mine just as good or better  :)
performance and lookswise,

so i was wondering if you all could help me on where i should begin, i know ill have to do an engine swap but that fine
my D15Z6 isnt powerful enough anyway, i want a B16B or a K20a :p but probably wont be able to afford insurance ha

ill attach a few pics of the car at its current bog standard-ness :(

i would start with the looks/body side untill you can afford insurance for a b16 or k20

yeah, i can afford insurance on b16b, but engine swap is gonna be last anyway,
i have no chance on the k20a yet ha, im only 19
i think because its a 1.5i ls, its an ek3, would ek9 parts fit
stuff like the ek9 spolier, bumper lips and interior parts?

All exterior parts will fit no doubt and interior I think it all does to

Yes, the would fit but I don't think you can put the facelift exterior parts on your ek3, because I don't think you can get a facelift ek3, or can you? Ohhh and :welcome:

schwweet, cheers guys,
was unsure because i see lots of ek4 threads but not so many ek3,

my biggest problem then is my manifold cat converter, i wanna move it and get a spoon manifold
but i dont know how i could move the oxygen center as its above the cat now

anyone know how i can move it?

start off with some good coilovers , uprated brakes front + back ( ek9 set-up if possible - 5 stud conversion ) , strut brace , ek9 steering rack , good wheels + tyres , tint rear windows , wouldnt bother doing anthing with the standard engine as the english vtec-e is not good for tuning . friend near me had one and he literally had thousands spent on it and every performance part obtainable on it but still wasnt quick.

yeah coilovers definitely first, looks like im riding on stilts,
was thinkin of doing the brakes and hubs conversion, i have drums on the back
is it a hard job to do?

got some wheels lined up, got them free off a mate, then i just sprayed them white for a quick fix till i save some money,

yeah the d-series i think is pretty poor, good mpg tho, but cant expect much from a rover engine
