By 2k range I mean under 3k.
I recently bought a UK DC2 myself, was priced at £2800(probably a one off it was off a mate who was stuck for cash and owed me a favour) lets just say I got it well under that range. Full Dealer service history, only mods were good condition gunmetall 98 spec wheels, decat and mongoose system. Allround very good condition, red recaros cleaned up well, lower arches solid even on the inside as I have stripped the rear interior to check and seal myself, tiny sign of rust beginning at bumper joint and little bit round rear washer, nothing more than £300-500's worth at body shop. Gearbox could do with a set of syncros because I am harsh and picky but not particularly bad(have a spare box going in anyways), engine pulls extremely well and only a slight smoke on overrun, typical of 130k miles. Also came with new Honda OE clutch kit as he thought it was on its way out, was slave cylinder and Honda OE front pads/discs to go on as he hadn't fitted them yet. ( Allmost £400 worth of parts that the car didn't particularly need. )
Right place at right time. Patience is all. Certainly not "Mint" but not many cars are these days that are described as such. Would happily class it a very good condition.
I must admit am I the only one who thinks honda prices do seem to be on the silly High side again. I look at most the cars for sale and think who the hell is paying these prices for such old rusty and smokey cars?? I mean fair enough if it is quite old, rare, low mileage and actually mint. Then you can justify higher price tag. But when did the EK4 become part of the older rarer generation. I hadn't even thought EG6's were quite there yet unless low mileage, minimally modified and extremely good condition.
You can pick up a well maintained , good condition MB6 for £600-1200, far more car than a standard EK4
Maybe I am just too strict on the value of my money over what's on the market. Is quite different over her on the Isle of Man, your lucky to see near £3k for any DC2 regardless of condition.
