Been looking for a while at buying a new exhaust and filter for my 9.

Settled on a J's racing filter which I will order as soon as I get paid this month! Happy with that! :D

The only problem is I cant seem to decide on an exhaust (cat-back).

I have narrowed it down to either the buddy club spec 3, 5Zigen miracle fireball or one of the Fujitsubo's (not sure which).

I did a search and found a few different threads on exhausts and which to buy but wanted to see what people would buy in my shoes??

I have about £500 to spend on the exhaust. I would like it to sound quite loud, not a drown but a nice noise on idle & low revs but really loud on vtec!!!:drive:

Any help, pics & sound clips would be brilliant!! :nice:

Thanks

buddy club spec 3 is very loud apprently lol your best best is you tube mate, normaly comes up with cars with them fitted :) thats what I did before I bought my spoon N1

I like the design of the buddy club one, for me, its the most agressive and track oriented design between those 3

if you want to do trackdays you will need to ensure that teh car is not louder than 98 DB static or driveby, bear this in mind for your potential purchase,,

also i see that buddyclub exhaust does not have flanged connections where it joins, a step back i beleive to teh honda design,,

my favorite aftermarket exhaust is teh HKS silent hi power but unfortunately they dont seem to make it for an EK9

You wont need a aftermarket exhaust when you hear the noise off the J's Racing induction kit LOL

Nah, a step forward in my opinion. Flanges are heavy and can leak. With a slip fit design, you eliminate those two possibilities esp. while on track. That is why all competition exhausts from Mugen (N1) and others like Buddy Club are made this way.

:drive:

the buddyclub spec 3 is stupidly loud especially on idle when your engines cold in the morning(your neighbours will hate you!)and ive heard that the spoon n1 and the 5zigen systems are just as bad, best bet in my opinion if you want a a subtle sound on idle and normal driving and then a nice raspy race note in vtec would be a fujitsubo RMO1A,power getter or legalis R depending on which tailpipe design you prefer and they all vary in noise slightly, power getter being the loudest and legalis R the quietest, vtec direct.com can supply all these fujitsubo systems for around £550 with your ek9.org discount and they are well worth the money! p.s if your gunna go for the j's racing induction kit make sure you get a good feed of cold air going to it.:win:

Heya Mike, was good to see you at Japshow mate, hope the cars going well.
Hopefully this video might help with your decision slightly.

Thats running a 5Zigen Miracle Fireball cat back, de-cat & standard header (soon to be completely 5Zigen, love their kit!!)

Hi mate! Yeah was good to meet you too, it was seeing your j's and talking to you that made my mind up to buy one lol! :nice: Car is going good, no complaints at all!!

You'll have to let me know how the 5Zigen header makes a difference because thats a possible mod i'm looking to do down the line!

Thanks for the sound clip, that does sounds sweet! Its s loud as I had hoped lol! I wana be waking up my neighbours!!!! I will keep looking and see what I think when I get paid.

Thanks for all the comments tho.
