Whirring noise from gearbox area

dude did you read the above comments?

pint of ale says your clutch release bearing is shot

input shaft bearing would mean noise under load!! ie when driving in gear!

****, sorry mate, misunderstood! It's been a long day :( Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't rush to change parts that you aren't 100% are faulty.
As I said mine makes this noise and I have had my box in pieces, the bearings where fine.
All im doing is keeping an eye onit and making sure it doesn't get too much louder.

Yeah, i'll see how much of a pain it'll be to change, if its not too bad i'll just swap it out...

All it will do is get louder and easier to diagnose.
My ISB is loud, but I hear it under load.
And it doesn't stop making noise til I fully depress clutch pedal.

From others comment, yours sounds like release bearing.
Clutch kits can be had for £165ish for OEM

Yeah, i think you're right. I really dont want to replace the clutch AGAIN, only did it last month.

Thanks for your help fella's :nice:

haha no worries dude, release bearing can be bought seperately, no point replacing clutch and pressure plate if its nearly new

all b-series release bearings are same IIRC so try tegiwa, honda or even motor factors, all should be cheap

Its a D series but i'd imagine they would all be the same! I'll ring around tomorrow, get some prices. If its not too bad, i'll end up just going for it...

Thanks again!

Surely you did release bearing with clutch?
It's only lasted a month...?

Mine makes same noise , took it to honda for free health check and they said it was noisey main shaft bearings and quoted me £770 to replace them . think im just gna try get a second hand box
