my electric window in my 2000 ej9 will go down but wont go up (passenger side) , im guessing its either a regulator or the motor or both ? and how much would it be to fix ?

More than likely the motor but your best replacing the full unit (regulator and motor).

As for cost................. just throw it in yourself and get somebody to hold the door glass to make it easier.

thanks for the quick reply , no i mean how much would the parts be ?

may be something even simpler which is the window rubber which i found to be the problem on both my doors, i have a ek9 window regulator spare just not sure which side it is think is passenger check my for sale add

This. Had the same problem on all 3 of my ek's

window rubber is your problem,

its comon problem as they dry up, if you get wd40 it will work until it dry's back up

what i use is motorbike/bikecycle chain grease as it doesnt dry up :)

silicone spray the window rubbers, keeps them lubricated and doesnt attack the rubber like wd40.

Yes the rubbers do dry up but the motors fail quite often, spraying the rubbers is only a temp solution if the motors on its way out.

Best spending few £ on a spray first and see how you go.

P.s "HOLTS" make a spray for this application, use it myself.

i took off the door card and sprayed wd around the regulator and bit of the ruber but not all of it , will try tomorrow and let ye know , thanks for the replys :)

I had a similar problem, found out it was the button/switch itself.
Try that too

I think its an issue related to the motor which helps to up and down to the window if your car. Either consult a mechanic or change your rubbers which are supposed to be at your car's window.
