Y56 GF-SiR

Thanks guys! Never saw me going this far with the car, But I guess it's worth keeping so why not!

Little video from the track day:

Got some 205/50/15 r888's for the track now, and they are awesome tyres! Just need to figure out how to get more "play" with the rear. Also, I was out the first session with my spoiler blocks on and they knocked about 4-5mph off my top speed and glued the car down at the back preventing no oversteer, took them off and noticed the car getting light around the rear and very light whilst heavy braking in comparison which I wanted, Love the look of them, so will be back on for the road :p.

Ignore the front wheels, last minute job getting the 888's on some rims and had a nice offset of et35, will have all 4 matching red ones on next time though unless I can be bothered to get them done mag blue!

There not mine actually! Mine are reserved by deposit.

Thanks mate, appreciate it :nice:, Definitely going to have a while yet!

Is it the Y56 JDM one? I dunno if I could afford it now, Just put a deposit down on an Mfactory gearset :/.

So yep, my latest purchase after realizing it's just too long geared!

Is it really? Last I saw a woman owned it? Is it there for breaking or is the car still on the road, It would be tempting at bad money, must get a lead on it :nice: It would be perfect right enough, Kenny Stewart posted a pic of it up here right enough!

Kris, I think that's one of your best buys yet! She will feel great in the higher gears. I had a similar gearset in an old Saxo VTS of mine, which limited at 78-100-122. Felt unreal being on the power in 3rd coming out of slower corners!

Kris your car is insane... it soo clean xD.

Thanks man, It would need to stay that way for the amount of time it see's the road :( lol.

I have to agree with you in terms of function anyway! And that sounds pretty similar to mine.

So aye, thanks to Stephen (SPek9) for the gears and installing them, top man, the box got back to my mechanic after being built who threw it in today, he took it a quick run up the road to make sure all was well and it is, he said he couldn't believe the pull in especially in 3rd :nice:. Got my mishimoto radiator in too with no flaws. So all went smoothly, and will hopefully be improving my lap times at the next track day :p. So annoyed I won't be back in Ireland for another month to play with it though.

Im glad everything went smoothly for you and that your happy with the gears..although Im sure you are gutted that you have to wait a month to actually try them out!!

Your lap times will definitally improve with the 3rd gear pull around the whole bottom section but the main thing is that it will be a lot more fun to drive with the extra response. Everyone will naturally want to improve lap times but you have to remember how mint the wee car is and seeing that its your road car you dont want to push it too hard but still enjoy it

I'm happy too, trust me! Not very often car's go smooth, Think I'm going to stick an OEM EK9 Dual Bend shifter along with it aswell, had one in my old EJ9 and it was nice. Will be nice reaching for 4th instead of barely reaching the end of 3rd in that bottom section too.

Yeh I completely understand what your saying, it is my road car at the end of the day, all about the maintenence aswell which a lot people forget and get blinded by new shiney parts lol. But anything it will ever need it will get :nice:.

Another video from the track, in 720p. Better than the first I reckon.

looks to be going well mate! can't wait to see this in the flesh

well put together

Cheers boys! Back at home to the Honda and I've been trying to get it clean again, cleaned the bay up and put together the back interior after last track day :nice:. Few pics from last track day I dug out and the new radiator, Stay hasn't arrived yet!

New gearset is in but haven't had a chance to drive it yet, want to keep it off the road until it's completely sorted and clean again.

In regards to the last track day, the car is going great for what it is and can't wait to try the new ratio's out next time! Getting it ready for the summer, and trying to make it as perfect as possible, going to get the front lip resprayed due to a few chips and getting the bonnet lacquered aswell, its by no means bad, but could be better. :nice:

P.s ignore the shitty wolfraces on the front, was a last minute thing and they had quite a nice offset of +35. Have x4 of the red wheels for track now, thinking of doing them mag blue, or there abouts.

Cheers
Kris

Cheers man and indeed! July 14th, cannot wait!

So I finished up getting the bay back to it's former glory today:

My paper thin translucent bonnet:

Mishimoto Radiator stay installed along with apexi cap:

And finally, emptied my catch can which appears to be doing its job! Alot of condensation aswell as the car isn't driven much:

Alot of oily gudgey watery stuff:

Mag blue will be nice, not normally a fan of red but i think they look great against the yellow on track.

I say keep them red. Nice build mate

So a bit happening recently, Was never happy with the paintjob on my '9 spoiler and spoiler base was looking a bit worse for wear so took it to my new painter and he did an amazing job as usual, he redone the base in some stuff toyota use on their doors and has the very same textured finish as the OEM spoiler, also got the front lip redone too:

I also picked up a TopFuel B-C pillar brace which has been sprayed however I think I am going to get it soda blasted and polish it up:

Hopefully it will look similar to this, want to keep a polished/silver theme along with the spoon rear brace, beaks and LCA's etc...

And I finally got round to getting the bonnet re-laquered as the Tokyo sun had taken it's toll on it, such an improvement, couldn't have imagined it would have turned out this shiny lol

Few random pics, As I claybar'd the whole car, polished it, sealed it and waxed it, the claybar gave some amazing results, paint work feels like glass!

Some trackday rubber!

Haven't installed the front lip yet as I have to get the wheels alligned on Saturday and want it to get on the ramp okay, It will be first time properly driving it then with the gearset too, cannot wait! Next track day is in less than 3 weeks too, will get the GOPRO hooked up.

Nice! Sprint harts on the floor?

Cheers man, Yeh they actually the CPF-G, G is for gravel, there my dads track wheels, thought they were 4x100/114.3, but sadly not or I would have used them. They are a bitch to clean lol.
