A Civic

Copied straight from the TPS thread .

So, little update
Sort of embarrassing actually.

They say d b h TPS sensors and plugs are compatible with one another , that is half true. We got a b series loom out and after checking the pin locations we came to realise the D series plug wiring pins are in different locations to the B series. I really should of checked the locations beforehand but in my defence 2/3 pins fell out on mine haha.

So that was the reason the calibration was going backwards.

Closest we can get closed though is 0.57 now and it's giving me an afr of 17.2 idle which is rich as **** and partial, throttle leans out so something must be wrong with my map I guess , never has run right on this map anyways so mapping with romain will happen when I can afford it.

Progress! :nice:

Just read through the spec list. You mapped for the injectors? The injector data in the ecu being wrong can cause untoward fueling results.

Also is the fuel pressure reg adjustable?

Yeah it was mapped on these injectors but the black works TPS that was on it wouldn't calibrate properly from what I remember , he set it to 100% throttle using the mapping software but a few days later it **** itself , he adjusted it again using that plugin where he can use my wifi to access it, but it only lasted a week and **** itself again that's when I got used Honda one, no idea if that's caused any issues.

It was also mapped on an adjustable black works fpr, that wasnt holding pressure so after mapping I put a stock one back on and upgraded to a walbro fuel pump which bumped the fuel pressure up 5psi more than what it was on with the blackworks and old fuel pump.

Ah OK. So short of the regulator and the Honda tps it's all as it was mapped?

in regards to what's changed since mapping
- now has a stock fpr instead of the bwr adjustable
- now has a Honda TPS instead of bwr
- now has an edelbrock performer X instead of the ITR inlet
- had a head gasket , arp head studs , new stem seals and a skim and valves cleaned but doubt that could really effect anything.

Pretty sure it's the regulator bud. Stock b18c6 reg or?

Stock b18cr reg that came with the engine initially. Could it be that when it was mapped it was around 38psi from memory on idle now with the stock reg and upgraded pump it's around 41 so now it's putting more fuel into the engine than is required or something a long them lines ?

I'm surprised it's made that much difference to the fueling. More pressure would create too much fuel not too little.
Although you did say it goes full rich on the throttle so...

Everything seems messed up to me haha, thanks for the PM btw

Copied off civiclife

When it ran out of petrol . First time properly using snapchat.

Little update.

if I can get into my map , Jesse off ek9org said he will send me over an ITR base map with my injectors adapted to get it running better , there's still good people in the Honda community.

just started painting, masking takes the piss.

one carrier painted now to dry

Light headed and hungry

Now I remember who you are! Remember the car from civiclife :D come along way man, Looks good!

Not much happening.

Put the spoon fan switch in and that's it really lol.

Went for a drive in the heat we had to Chester and the walbro started whining very loud but read this is normal under high temperatures.

Then everything went wrong, hit vtec and all power lost , full throttle and nothing. Pulled over, started it back up , started to drive and anything over 4K would cause it to miss and splutter .

Hmm why ? Fuel pump dying ? Maybe

How about the distributor ?

Let's open up that and have a look ...

What's been going on in there?
Mine ran completely fine with total dizzy destruction going on lol

No bloody idea haha
Got a new unused one at my mates so I'll buy that when I've got the money, mapping has to be pushed backwards now, good thing I didn't book myself in.
