EK9 Racecar

Wow !you be doing time attack in no time ,
All coming together very nicely,
Can't wait for your debut track day sam !
Well done indeed.

Put my new seats in today, I took the covers off and put them through the washing machine too get rid of all the human slime! As Moog and Marty would say!

Put them back together and they're fitted on a set of Tegiwa low seat rails.
Decent quality rails and a good price for the pair.

The passenger seat has seen better days but the drivers seat is good.

Got to love marty and moog!
Going full retard on this now, loving it!
If you go to the ring you'll need another seat though. They don't like winged seats.

Yeh I love MCM, what they're doing with 2sexy looks like fun.
Yeh I saw Nicole had to change her seat when she last went.
If I do go I'll use the passenger seat.
I won't go in the ek9 this year, I want to go this year but for my first time there just as a passenger.
I was going to make a post about a ek9.org ring trip nr the end of the season.
Was going to offer I'd take my van and people can Bung all their spares in etc.

I do need someone to go with, in danger of not going this year otherwise.
If your feeling it bang a thread up.

This cars going to be amazing! Love the seats too buddy

wow some serious progress on the build, not a fan of the direction you are taking the car but it will definitely make an awesome track weapon. Hats off to you sir.

Internals still at the balancer :(
Still! Lots to get on with.
This is the oil cooler all mounted, the plates that mount it are alluminium.

It's solid, not going anywhere!

ITR radiator is fitted, using some modified ITR mounts that are flipped upsidown.

And finally intercooler mounted.

This is what the clearance looks like.

Between the FMIC and the oil cooler You've got about 1.5cm gap.
And between the oil cooler and the radiator it's about 2-3mm.

Also got the front wiring loom in and headlights.

Starting to look like a car again!

I want to re-locate the battery behind the passenger seat, and also thought I'd relocate the fuse box.

Cut away the tape and relocated the wiring so that it routes inside, and went through a seal so it remains water tight!

Going to be in the passenger footwell, will have to make some brackets to mount it.

You might want to put some sort of rubber between the oil cooler and chassis. Stop vibration killing the cooler.
Nice work on the mounting of it though.

Thanks man, I have, I thought just that, put some blue silicone hose underneath it.

Neat mounting solutions bud! Shame about the balancer taking his time. Typical machine shops I've noticed lol

Thanks Jesse, yeh bit annoying but I don't want them to rush it.
He originally said 2 weeks, but probably going to more like 4 I hope!

Worth the wait if the jobs done well I guess.
Like you say you've got plenty to do anyway

I've done a similar thing with my fuse box and put it under the dash,
However (just a suggestion) if you want to make it neater you can remove the relay box that's Bolted to the strut top and remove all but about 3 of the wires that run on that side of the engine bay.
It's all just A/c and abs related wires.

Then if you extend the 3 wires you need they can be run in the inner wing. Saves having the wires coming through the big bulkhead hole and looping back through the other hole

This may sound like a pain but I find it so nice not having loads of wires everywhere

Indeed, I was thinking of doing just that. I don't have Abs or a/c so was going to get rid of it all.

Rotating assembly is back :)) I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
