Yeah. Should be starting a turbo setup in the next few weeks. Been planning and researching for the last year and saving up. Finally in the position to start. Will keep this thread updated. :naughty:

Wasn't expecting that! Will be a good learning curve for you then. Will keep my eye on this. :))

Been quiet lately as I have saving like a mo fo and been sorting/researching my setup for awhile lads and finally getting close to sorting it all out. Things are starting to get exciting again!

Will be running stock internals as the budget didn't quite stretch to a engine build quite yet, as I will be spending money elsewhere on the car too. Its about the whole package and not just power. This will be my starting point. The build is orientated around quality and flexibility, this setup will be aimed at producing a balanced quality build that has the potential to adapt for future power goals.

After considering a twinscroll setup (may still go down this route) I have decided against as for my power application the gains would be minimal, yes awesome transient response and spool and sexy dual wastegates/screamer but at this point Id rather afford better brakes, bushes other bits!

Nice work. Small wire tuck is on my list of things to do.

How come you painted the inside of the wheels. Where they in a bad way?

No they were fine. It's just something I do, makes cleaning the inside of the wheel easier as brake dust doesn't have a key to bond to. Also the white reflects the light and looks good/clean.

Air-con removal

  • Get system bled by garage
  • Follow lines to compressor and remove
  • Cut belt going to compressor
  • Remove all nuts and lift out/lines and lift out
  • Easy

Brakes

Decided to go for the MG ZS 2.5 282/262 big brake conversion using 282 RBC Front Discs and standard 262 discs from Eurocarparts for the rear.

I utilised the following bits whilst trying to keep costs down

  • 282 RBC Discs
  • 262 Padgid Rears
  • Delphi pads (bye bye Ferado Ds2500 for now)
  • HEL Braided Lines
  • MG ZS 2.5v6 callipers and carriers

The only problem was I had to shave down the carriers to clear the discs.

  • Rbc Front Grooved Discs

  • New Rears and Delphi Pads fitted

Lay off the white paint dude. :)

Nice progress though, what else do you need to finish the turbo collection?

haha I gotta use it all up man, no wasting here

Just the usual bits left now, clutch, fuel pump, wideband, boost gauge and arp headstuds and manifold studs.

"Tying" up loose ends

  • Full Hyperflex Polybush kit
  • New Tie-rods
  • New wheel bearing
Wasn't tackling my Geo setup and bushes at home as I know how much of a pita they are to do so first time someone worked on my car came along. Only one place I trust and that's Brosport in Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent. Absolutely awesome, if you are in the area these guys can set up a car and know their stuff.
