There is a lot of work yet to be done before it's where i want it to be. Just waiting for my shoulder to heal from the surgery i just had a month ago. Soon as it is healed, i will be further reducing the cars overall weight, upgrade the brakes, as well as adding a few engine modifications.

Old pictures from the first year i bought the car off my friend. This was when it was still SCCA Showroom Stock C classed and was sporting her old livery from when she was racing it. The car was no longer eligible in that class so she sold it. It's been my project/track car since, it will make it's Honda Challenge Debut in 2014 i'm thinking, that is if i can get a working budget.

If you're wondering why it's no longer sporting the livery, they weren't my sponsors so i ditched it.

Is that rear wheel off the floor? FairPlay

If you are referring to this picture, you are correct. The passenger rear wheel is well off the ground. Because the car had OEM suspension, it had a great deal of body roll. Which caused massive weight transfer mid-corner. The wheel used to get so high off the ground my friends nicknamed it "the spaceship"!

Well going back to work on Jan 21st after being unable to for almost two months. Which means its almost time to get to work on the car! Shoulder seems to be getting better every day that passes. Still going to have to take it easy for a while.

Gotta love dedicated pieces of machinery and the "Time Killer" is just that :D

wicked stuff man, hope you feel better soon so you can get on with the Project :p

haha, all the best.

^ Thanks bud! Been talking with my friends about whether or not to forget the Honda Challenge H2 classing and go with NASA TTC/PTC classing witch is a little more popular here in the Midwest. It opens up a ton of possibilities for weight reduction and power.

Also in the process of securing a P28 ECU so that we can have Neptune tuning software installed, and we're looking at an alternative to analog gauges and going with a custom digital display.

More updates to come! Getting back to work on this thing this week!

Today is finally the day i can get to work on the car! Picking up the roll cage padding as well as the sheet aluminum that i'll be using to cover up the sunroof after it's removed.

Nice EM1!

Thanks! It's a work in progress.

Finally got around to removing the sunroof from the car! However i'm kind of regretting doing so now... LOL! Not that weight removal is a bad thing, especially when it's at the very top of the car, but now i have this 4" gap between the roof and the main hoop of the cage. Going to have to save up for the day i can get the cage cut out and a new one built. Oh well!

Also picked up a couple sticks of high density padding for the cage, that will be going in soon as i am finished re painting the cage to keep it from rusting any further.

Didn't get around to finishing the sunroof delete panel today... My buddy had to finish up with his car up and running. So we weren't able to move my car to an open spot in the shop to work on it. Not sure when i'll be able to get back to work on it, all depends on my work schedule.

Bringing the thread back from the dead. Been waiting on parts to be ordered and shipped. Finally today I will be picking up my new exhaust manifold. A Private Label Manufacturing T/A, should help beef up the mid range powerband as well as shed some weight off the front end.

Also placing an order on some more today.
-ACT 4 Puck Unsprung Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
-Fidanza 7.5lb Flywheel
-HR Tuning Tunerview RD1 Digital Display
-Hawk Blue Pads

Finally picked up my new PLM T/A exhaust manifold and ordered my parts, should all arrive next week. Going to the shop today to work on the car finally. Have a lot to do with only a month and a half to do it before my first event. Finally going to finish the sunroof delete, and begin dropping the trans in preparation for the new ACT 4 puck clutch and Fidanza flywheel install.

STAY TUNED!

Well i sort of took the bass ackwards approach to the engine removal, essentially i wasted 1.5 hours disconnecting the harness from the engine. When all i had to do was disconnect it from the ecu and pull the harness out with the engine, also removed the intake manifold so it was easier to get at the rear mount. This is how the car is sitting right now.

Now that i know of the mistakes that i made, i will not make them again. Found a set of Crower dual valvesprings and Ti retainers for a good price off a friend, so those will be arriving this week. I'll get to work on installing the camshafts while i wait for the clutch and flywheel to arrive. Clutch isn't in stock, and i will have it in 2 weeks.

More to come!

Well motor and trans are out finally. Waiting on valve springs and retainers to show up, went with some used Brian Crower dual with Ti retainers from a buddy. Only 15,000 miles on them, so they should work well with my CTR cams. That install will be happening.

Also purchase this valve spring compressor so that i don't have to pull the head and spend more money on replacing the head gasket. Tool was about the cost of a head gasket, but i'd rather spend the cash on something i can use more than once.

And finally finished the install of the sunroof delete panel. Laid a bead of silicone to help weather proof it and riveted it down using aluminum rivets.

Parts are finally starting to show up for the car! Valve train and Deka EXT-9 (6.5lb) battery are in. Still awaiting the arrival of my clutch/flywheel combo, as well as an S4C LSD transmission. Car should be in fighting form for TTD!

Yeah i need to figure out how I'm going to get the seat to sit a bit lower in the car. Sitting way too high, feel like I am driving a van....

Sitting low definitely makes the car feel "longer" as I can not see the hood really...but its nice down low.

How did that valve spring tool work out?
