Been a while without an update so here we go...
Tracking was worse than I thought and went through the toyos quite quick on the inside edge, so went back to the rays up front after getting the tracking done...
couple on the drive after I gave it a quick polish
On the stand at Japfest Silverstone
Finally managed to get round to fitting some bits, Skunk2 pro series inlet in black with a Skunk2 68mm throttle body, mugen cold air induction then changed the oil and plugs before it went off to Romain for mapping
Not too bad for a 1.6 n/a
Romain also said it was one of the healthiest B16B's he had mapped in recent times, which was a pleasant relief as he had explained to me previously on the phone that when they are not looked after and driven on the limit you can struggle to make standard power even with all mods and a good map. The vtec now kicks in at 4,000rpm if you are more than 50% on the throttle which makes it so much more drive-able at slower speeds and helps it massively in the mid range too. Had a good blast home and even though I was giving it some abuse it still used less petrol than on the way up! I really can't recommend Romain highly enough, such a nice guy to deal with and a genuine enthusiast who will give you honest advice - as well as being a total wizard when it comes to fine tuning, some places you can go for mapping you are lucky to be on the rollers for 30 mins, get charged the world and end up with a copy and paste 'mirror map'. Mine was on there for the best part of 2 and a half hours and overall could not be more impressed with what I got considering what it all cost
.
205.9 bhp, 130 ft lbs and a 9,200 rpm redline
I'll try and get a few videos up when I get them off my old iphone.
2 days ago I put the new wheels on, staggered fitment TE37's 7.0j on the rear and 7.5j up front, with 205/195 yokohama AD08's all round, really happy with how it looks, just need to sort out the ride height and dampening rates as ideally i'd rather not roll the arches if I can avoid it.
Managed to get the carbon plate holder cut out for the lights / mounts and fitted it last night...Gave it another quick clean this morning and then headed up to Essex for the 6TWO1 meet - met a lot a friendly new faces and saw some awesome cars, great journey there and back with some entertaining convoys too
Such a badass set up^^
