I really want to get a set off alloys for my ek9..Regamasters have been my choice from the very start.. Love these wheels.. Just I not sure to get 15's or 16's.. My car is low so would 16's make me raise it?? Also 15's are easier to find..Also what wheel choices would ye run with these alloys??

What are your opinions..???

I been looking at others pics and I hope ye dont mind me using these pictures lads.

yea 16 would raise it 1 inch from the ground more than 15"...personaly i like a nice set of 15's on a type r , lowered to the bollox!!

i dont think going on 16's will raise your car you'll just have to get lower profile tyres, i personally would go for 16's you can get lowered profile tyres = better handling and their the right looking size 17's over the top and 15 looks too small
but thats i personally thinkk

Yea I would get lower profile tyres if I was going for 16" but the thing is our roads aint the best and a low profile tyre wont be to friendly

I prefer 15's, not too sure why just personal preference I guess.

if you really want to know if your bigger wheels will raise your car do this with the wheels you have n now and do it on your furture wheel to see which had the bigger overall diameter if the new wheel number is bigger then your current alloys this means you will riase your car but its ever so slightly

take the first number of your tyre size (this is the width of the tread) and multiply it by the second number (this is the profile height expressed as a percentage) and then divide by 100. You now have the height of one sidewall in millimetres.
Multiply it by 2 (for top and bottom sidewalls) and divide this by 25.4 to convert to inches and add it to the third number of your tyre size (the rim diameter in inches) to give the overall diameter in inches.
If you want to convert back to millimetres multiply by 25.4

i think the car drives the best with 15s.its what honda put on it and i trust them.
also 16inch tyres are dearer than 17 as the demand for them is small.i had 16 advans on a civic sir and i thought it was slightly less responsive handling wise.my opinions though some will differ.15s will work out cheaper to buy also if buying new i presume?

Got to be 15s. Less unsprung weight and a meaner stance (with a good tyre fitment of course).

Tough choice, many for's and many against's!

15" - Lighter, Cheaper tyres, OEM Honda size (for a reason?), lower the car
more, increased acceleration, less economical!

16" - Lower profile of tyre = less sidewall flex, better ground clearance, quicker
top end, appearance?

17" - Totally avoid in my opinion!

Josh..

i would say if you go 15" get them in 55 profile (standard profile) as 50 looks to skimpy for the ek's large arches. i made the mistake of putting 50's on my rega's and i'm still regretting it as it doesn't look as good.

oh, and stay away from 17's, they look s**t on ek's

Oh I know to stay away from 17"'s.. Never even mentioned them..16" would be the biggest...

I not sure if its the photos, but comparing the 2 sizes I am kinda liking the 15's instead now...I think they look right as ek9's came with 15's..

15's for performance any day of the week. but if your determined to fit BIG brakes you may need the 16's for clearance.

Also i would suggest a Final Drive change on 16's because you'll lose some acceleration with bigger wheels.

Depends what your looking for from your motor.

i was in the same situation as you mate, i wanted to gt a set of 15" alloys but in some pictures they left a lot of gap between the rear arches when lowered 50-60mm. although the 15" are a lot better make the car stand out a great deal does anyone have pictures of 15" lowered more then 50mm??

Yeah mine from the first page, on 195/50/15 tyres, top of tyres sit in line with arches so zero gap

15'' FTW :win: with low profile tires is the best combo for performance sharper wheel feel and looks!
they are a bit hard with low profile for bumpy roads
16'' on a civic they look too big for me
anyway you dont asked about but i saw some comments for 17''
so 17''=:angry2:
