Anyone know this EK9 Race base.

Advertised as a Race Base, but with optional extras. Has Red Recaros, full red interior, carpets, door cards etc, windy windows, No airbags, and AC fitted. Mate of mine has just bought it.

Is officially the first ever EK9 to be registered in the Isle of Man.

Just wondered if it was anyone off here or a mate of someone's?
 
It was for sale a month or so back, was advertised as a lightweight model then,

Looked to be a clean example
 
It's not a race base.
It's just a base spec ek9,
Means whoever bought it new didn't specify the options available. :)
 
Was wondering that as I thought the Race Base/ Lightweight ones came with SiR interior. No A/C etc. So its just a Base spec with few options??

Is there any way of finding the spec off the VIN? As it seems a bit like some of the interior has been out or replaced at some point. Maybe even fitted at later date.
 
Check the reinforcement bars behind the bumpers or you can send me the frame number and Il check what it was from the factory :nice:
 
Deffinatelly has the reinforcement bars behind bumpers, or did you mean there is an indication of spec on them?

Ill see if I can dig out the chassis num, have it on job sheet at work.

The reinforcement bars on the race base as far as im aware are very thin or narrow compared to a standard EK9
 
Also has tinted windows. Iirc Race base didn't have tinted windows.

Yes this is correct about the bars behimd bumper they are dead thin lile the strutbrace in the engine bay i have a race base model but red recaros and carpet
 
Yes that a guy who lives down the road from my mum. Did you get it from a place in eastleigh?, good car he only sold it cause of his girlfreind and they also had 5 kids between them lol
 
Lightweight models come with recaros ect, just missing momo airbag wheel and it has windy windows and no passenger airbag i think.

And no abs.
And no power folding mirrors.

And I'm sure mine has thinner bars behind bumper, but it certainly isn't a race base.
 
So I take it the Race base is different to the Lightweight model? As in Lightweight is just as basic spec one?
 
I have what is known to be a race base, facelift as well.

Has grey interior
**** seats, no momo wheel
windy windows
No air bags
No abs
No tints
No power folding mirrors
Thinner front and rear crash bars
But it did have factory fitted aircon! Which i believe is an option, as most of the things. Has a double din dash but grey etc, same as jdm ek3.
 
As above! I also own a racebase but sadly has now got bigger crash bars as built it from a shell and as you can imagine parts like that are not easy to find. But I have a mate who works at Honda if you give over your chassis code to a nice Honda guy it will come up as a Type R Race if a genuine racebase. Mine now has oem ek9 interior as hate the grey interior.
