thats a lot of bhp out a b16a2 lol speak to mike at r-motion he should have some nice parts :)

yeah i know fella ... my mates done it before he then went and turbo'd it now its just epic lol !! just wanna keep in n/a for a year then prob source a k20 :)

With the money u spend trying to get 250bhp outta that you mite aswell just buy a k20. :)

well ...

for 1200 i have b16a2 top , b18 bottom end with high comp pistons , acl bearings , arp bolts , and full gasket kit along with gearbox & ecu ....
also , 4-2-1 mani , fpr , lighted flywheel , long arm intake b18 g-box with lsd

thinking a few more quid i should be able to hit 250 .....
along with the lines off that i was thinking k20 ... but i want a awsum b series build

250bhp B16 sounds A) mega expensive and B) not very long lasting. Dont expect much torque either. Id either go K20 or built B20, or if your adament on keeping the B16, go turbo

Tbh i had the same idea with a b16a2 but after a long think I've decided to just buy a itr engine instead

same here...itr is hard to beat at the prices they are at these days. i have 2 now ;)

Why push a b16 to 250hp?? unless you are limited to a 1600cc regulation for racing or something?? Sell up and get a b18cr

You'll struggle to even hit 200bhp with that setup.

You need to do a lot of research and find out how to actually tune a motor.

please show me a b16 or b18 thats has made 250bhp??!! on a honest dyno without a turbo

I could show you a rally Car EG6 with Spec B16B making 240bhp at the crank well proven!

If you would like something along these lines you,ll be getting your hands dirty and 20 grand lighter!

Who built that engine?

sorry mate dont believe it, its not possible with an honest dyno IMO

So strictly speaking you have a B18 not a B16?

A built B18 on ITBs could make 250 but you'd be looking at 2 ring pistons, very light rods and a good set of ITBs, good ECU and a good map(per).

Easier way to 250 is increase capacity - line the B18 block to 2L and you instantly have around 10% increased capacity and approx 15% increase in potential power.

guys there was an issue of banzai a while back where to chaps got way over 200hp out of their b16a2's
porting and polishing is a good way to gain the extra power along with upping the CR.
these guys did this themselves i remember they were students one of them used his car for his final project at uni.
it can be done but it is just so in practial for the money.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE ............. IT JUSTS COST'S MORE

thats orange county choppers slogan lol

it is possible but why spent a ton of money on the b16 when for way less money you can go k series or b20 or even j series and push that much power way easyer. thats my hones opinion but if you have the money and thats what you want to built go ahead and start a built thread and keep us updated on how much money and what kind of parts does it take to obtain 250 bhp. out of a b16.
