B16b ....engine Problem....

im having a problem while in V-tec.... while im 7KRPM in 3rd its as if its Hitting the LIMITER.....for a few seconds...it wont go any further then after about 2 seconds if Decides to go the Full way.....it did it a tiny bit in 2nd 2day as well...but thats the 1st time...


HELP ME.....

has the car been serviced recently . and when was the last time fuel filter was changed

do you have OIL in the motor?

no its not been serviced in about 4500 miles and last fuel filter was done then....yes i have oil but its due a change in the next 1000miles....rekon i should Change it now see if thats the problem????

if driving hard most people change oil every 3k miles,
do you have enough oil on the stick?
is the engine warm when this happens?
does v tec engage properly and cleanly?

That used to happen to my bro's car and we took the throttle body apart and gave it a good clean with carb cleaner and it sorted it... worth a try!

As B16mini said, if you drive the car hard, bet on changing the oil every 5000kms or so.

I changed the oil at the weekend...used 0-40 mobile 1.....Running Sweet as a NUT!!!!

i used mobil1 0w40 in my itr dc2, never again, burnt it like crazy!also see this post for more about mobil 1:
