b18c spun a bearing!!!!

Another thing , did the engine have ARP rod bolts fitted ? Were the rods resized after setting the torque?

I think the reason we see alot of b18's having issues is they are usually the engine people pick for aggressive builds ..

Me and my mates have had some very bad experiences with AGRA, my mate had his EVO engine built there, when we put it in and started it for the first time there was oil seeping from the headgasket, we striped it down and found they had not torques the ARP studs down! 3 months laterite engine was smoking under load, turned out bores were ovulated!

Go back and tell them what's happened!!

I ran my b18 in for 10 miles put it on the dyno and then straight to its first race. Never missed a beat until it destroyed a bearing and rod at the last event of the year which was more my fault 9500k and swung it in to a corner wasnt worth changing to 3rd so kept it in 2nd bloody gear changes!!! Just thought id say the b18's can take pain aswell as the b16's.

As they have said all depends on the tolerances it was built to. Ive got spare rods if 1 of yours is damaged mate

i keep hearing more and more bad storys about agra every day... honestly up untill now ive never had an issue.. my work also use them as well and have done for years with no problems... im now looking at 1 destroyed rod a set of bearings, crank and oil pump...gutted!!!..

Its down to the people what built it to pay... Not you ! ! Everyone makes mistakes, i don't give a **** how long they have been doing it for or how good they think they are, eveyone makes them. The different between a good shop and a bad shop is the good one that will stick there hands up and admit its there mistake (hard to come by) and fix it asap.

Spot one with that one. A good shop will strip it down for free and tell you what the fault was. End of the day it's their reputation that will suffer.

ACE!
This is what separates the professionals from the posers; professionals stand behind their work, corrects issues which they create, points out issues that will cause an issue, and just communicates. Posers, well you can find these shops on review boards...lol. Hard to find stellar reviews of shops, maybe for the reason that they are best kept a secret, better access for existing clients. lol

so guys got my engine stripped totally now ... every thing is still good top end and my pistons are fine...3 rods are good along with there bearings..altho not much use now.. crank got hot and slightly distorted.already had it regrind before so think its dead!!. destroyed number 1 bearings, rod and main plus the rod its self...oil pump is not so bad considering but i want use it again any way..got a b16a lying around so going 2 throw my head etc on that for now and get on the road again... pistons can go in at a later date..:nice:
