hey guys, i was wondering if anybody knows (facts not thoughts) what parts could i get for my ek3 with JDM b16a (170bhp sir ii) that will give reasonable gains for the money or just parts that are a MUST HAVE, inc. aftermarket or parts that are direct fit from other hondas. and an idea of gains would be ideal too. OH AND THE CAR WILL BE USED FOR FAST USE (daily drive) AND MAYBE A TRACKDAY OR 2 LOL. many thanks in advance for any advise and help given.

As above, if your tracking it uprated brakes are a must. Performance pads as a minimum or pads, discs, braided lines and a good fluid will make it stop well and reliably.

A good bucket seat. Not having to grip onto the steering wheel to try hold your body upright on corners makes a lot of difference to driving.
After that brakes, suspension, bushes. Get the car stopping and cornering good before making it go faster.

Think this was brought up before , and im going to repeat myself ...

TYRES!

You can have big power , good brakes , great handling but its the tyres that transfer everything to the ground.

You definitely need a twin charged K20 swap.

the one thing i will not do is turbo a civic.. i completely dissaprove of this as it completely defeats the idea of having a civic..... VTEC!!!! its supposed to be n/a power!! i had a astra coupe turbo (300+ bhp) and when i came up againt an eg coupe.... he bent me over and ****ed me royally!!! point is its better to be able to put that down with naturally asprited power NOT A TURBO!!!

... with any engine upgrade like SC/Turbo, higher compression, lower compression, headers, exhaust, fuel delivery, almost everything with the exception of suspension or brakes, you will need a re-tune via programmable ECU.

umm is everyone forgetting the main one??? Gear box mods is buy far the best bang for buck mod out there. i have a 4.9 final drive in my 96 spec teg and made a very noticeable diff, just wish i put in a full gearset now would be rapid

If you like drag get Turbo kit to 300 hp if you like turns coilovers , remap ecu , aftermarket exhaust manifold , spoon n1 , j's racing intake filter kit.

Service
Brakes
Tyres

If you want some extra go then a gearset, can be had for the same price as most people waste on headers/exhausts

There is no need to change the suspension until you have reached the limits of the standard setup

:nice:

in all fairness the d15z6 engine pushes that shitty setup to its limiits as it is lol, coily`s are in order but only when i find them at the right price as im not made of money... un-fookin-fortuntely!!!

circuit = coilovers, roll cage, LCA, strut bars, tie bars, brakes , drilled rotors.
drag = get a turbo or if you want all motor then change your internals or maybe a Frankenstein engine.

You don't need any of that **** other than good pads, and stay the hell away from drilled discs!

yeh drilled disks are shocking!!!! nearly put my astra coup turbo into a ****ing wall coz i had them on it and they cracked like a bitch!!! but i did state in the opening thread that the car will be used for FAST ROAD USE, and maybe the occasional track day.... so far all i`ve got is a cold air intake and a tanabe hyper medallion cat-back and sports cat but i will be buying a new high flow mani in the near future... AND PLEASE REMEMBER IM ON A TIGHT BUDGET HENCE THE TITLE "bang for ya buck" lol
