best grip???

thanks for the reply mate!

are they a soft wall tyre the toyo r1r or are they hard wall???

im tore between the handkooks/michalen/yokahama what to do???:nerv:

I'd imagine they are between both. With a race inspired construction like the R888's then i would say they will be pretty good. I'm definitely going to give them a whirl as a replacement for the R888's. They won't be as good as R888's though. :nono:

Do they still come with the warning not to be used in freezing conditions like the R888s?

I have witnessed what using R888s (and admittedly driving like a complete knob) in Janurary temperatures results in, and it isn't pretty.

Ian do not get RS2, having driven a car with torque (dads FD2) they are proper rubbish in the wet

AD08 are MUCH better tyre

so what im gathering is that AD08s, r888 or michelin pilot exalto! is my options

himmmm!! what to do??????????/:nerv:

The michelins are the tyre of choice for the Clio trophy lads, and a bone stock one of those managed to pull distance on me round cadwell when I had r888s!

I will be trying some when I've shredded the last of the tread off my ghastly T1Rs!

whats the RS2 like in the wet my local dealer said they wernt great????

ya whats those michelin like in the dry really grippy??? does the side wall give much???

thanks for the imput lads!

The Michelins are quite good in the dry also. I have never done a track day in the dry with my EK9 so I am not too sure how well it works. I have however done dry Trackdays in my EJ9 and it gripped very well when warmed up.

I think it might be a bit better in the wet than the dry, but it might be down to my driving style. As Kozy said clios use this tyre a lot.

This is a good tyre in my opinion, and has lasted me a long time.

As for the side walls, they are quite stiff but not very hard like track day tyres.

I am not able to answer about the side wall as I don't know.
I think the question is what are you going to do most. If you are going to be just doing daily driving then I would go for the Michelins (all rounder) as they are cheaper and last longer. If you do track days then go for the AD08.

I am thinking of getting the AD08's but they are very pricey.

Another vote here for Yokohama AD08.
They're the best tyres I've ever bought and I've had Bridgestone Potenza Re01-R and Hankook RS2's also which are great tyres.

The AD08's I've found are brilliant wet and dry. Get these, pay the extra and you'll realise why you did.
