i am driving a pretty clean sir with a few mods, manifold, cat back exhaust, light weight wheels, apexi neo, but what i am after is little more bhp, so here is my idea, if i run a cold air feed to the original air box with a panel filter, and then put on a dc2 inlet manifold will i get more bhp, and will i go thru petrol for sport. am running the car on pro boost also, have it mapped with martin tracy, any ideas please,,

the dc2 inlet and TB would be a good modification along with the aforementioned intake modifications

also think about a decat and maybe upgrading the cams to EK9 spec

ek9 cams are going for around 150-200 and decat around 100

type r cams would be next on the list once i sort out the inlet manifold, i had a decat on before and the car sounded well and had good pull, but as the car is a daily driver, wondering about petrol, and would i get a good increase in bhp with the dc2 idea,,

if your worried about petrol then keep it standard

if its a daily driver then why do you want more bhp?

not too worried about the petrol thing, just wondering if it would make a huge difference to my pocket, and the reason i want more bhp is cos its a honda, we are always searching for more bhp, when times were good i didnt have to use the car as i had another car for my daily work, but as times got bad, had to get rid of a car, and i wasnt getting rid of my honda, do have a few runs with friends, and would just like that extra poke there for when i want to use it..

Wanna save yourself some money stop using pro boost its a waste of money, no need for octane booster with your setup.

believe it or not but the pro boost actually does work,, i have noticed some good improvements, for a start it is bringing the petrol closer to 100% octane which all jap cars are used to in japan,, it helps clean out the engine,, better milage,, and the car does perform better with it.:ek9:

personally i always ran my ek9 on maxol 98

i have used pro boost and i dont think it works as well as super 98

the difference i noticed with 98 is that it ran the engine alot quieter and smoother and maybe a little bit more HP but not enough that i think you would notice on the road

A stock compression b16a doesn't warrant using octane booster IMO

well thats just wrong lol.
100% octane ..

octane rating of 100..... not 100% octane..
some people use the term RON which is also the same sort of thing.

when you hear its high octane, they are refering to the octane rating of the petrol and not the actual level of Octane in the petrol.... its all to do with the level of anti-knocking properties the fuel has....

hope this helps....and yeah japan has some high octane my old EG6 SiR was tuned to run on 102 Octane...

...as long as you are remapping as you go along, you should be seeing some improvements with each added new part. TB, CAI, Intake Mani...

But if you did not improve exhaust, the gains will be limited by the exhaust. [which you did, but to what width]

Its debatable, was your car mapped for it?

when i brought my car to martin tracy,s i told him i wanted it mapped for the e,5 maxol petrol cos the octane is higher, and that i would be using pro boost straight away, and thats what he did

i intend on putting all the parts in at one time, then i will get the car remapped again, the exhaust is grand as far as i know, dc sports manifold, with twin loop cat back exhaust, what is the width on a twin loop.??

save your money and get a diesel :D
ya'll need to change valve springs for the ctr cams patsy!
