Picking up my new car on Thursday!!

It's got Bridgestone RE01R'S on all round.

Now I'm no tyre expert put these look like semi slick's/ racing tyres.

Bloke who I'm buying the car off of said to get them over here they're like £170 a corner!!

Anyone know much about them?

Any opinions/ input welcome :nice:

I think they may be the tyres that come on the ek9 from factory but not 100% on this and dont know anything about these either but im sure someone on here does :)

I'm running these all round on my EK9 and they are so much better then the RE010's that I had on my old ITR and current track wheels.

Fantastic levels of grip and feedback from these tyres and 100% going to get another set once mine are due for replacement.

Here is some of the marketing information about these tyres:

The Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires have been designed for street use with similar charactersitics as motor sport semi slick tires, providing the ultimate street/circuit balance available.

High Grip and Sidewall Stiffness
Semi Slick like shoulder block
Heat resistant polymer with cooling slit
Wide Center rib for increased lateral stiffness
Silica for improved wet weather performance
Faster than Bridgestone RE-01 by 2 seconds at Tsukuba

The Potenza RE-01R (with the "R" signifying Revolutionary) is the Extreme Performance Summer tire member of Bridgestone's global family of Potenza performance tires developed for enthusiastic sports car, sports coupe and performance sedan drivers. The Potenza RE-01R is designed to provide high levels of traction, responsive handling and driving control in dry and wet road conditions. The Potenza RE-01R is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Potenza RE-01R molds a soft tread compound featuring a superior wear resistance polymer to improve both wet and dry grip while contributing to wear and durability. Semi-Slick shoulder blocks and a wide center rib enhance initial responsiveness, provide more surface contact and fortify lateral stiffness to reduce the irregular wear that can occur during hard cornering. Two wide, straight circumferential grooves with Hydro Evacuation Surface (H.E.S.) walls and multiple directionally aligned lateral grooves increase water evacuation to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction while Bridgestone's Racing Slit Technology born from F1 wet tire development, improves surface contact in wet conditions. The tire's structure includes two wide steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon to provide strength and uniform ride quality and high-speed capability while the sidewalls are reinforced by steel cord that helps resist lateral deflection providing responsive handling and cornering stability.

re01r ar the predecessors of re-11, one of the best set of, if not the best set of tyres bridgestone offer. had these for a short time and absolutely loved it. best tyres Ive ever come across. and yes they are extremely expensive :)

Oh and the EK9 came with bridgestone potenza RE01 tires.

thanks for all the input guys!

where is the best place to get re10 from?

what size? 195 55 15? cheers

I am using RE01R also, it is the best performance street tire I ever try. I tried Yoko AD07 before, they quite slip at rainy days. RE01R is far stable at dry & wet surface !

The EK9 came from the factory on RE01R's

I thought they were ok until i changed the tyres and went with Proxes T1-R's...i missed the Bridgestones ALOT!

Im sure RE01R's arent even for sale in the UK as they are not E-marked therefore not legal

How bad exactly would these be in snowy conditions?

I run summer tyres all year and don't change tyres for winter :S

I have got a set of very very good part worn RE-01R's for sale.
Dunx
