hello all, new to this site and looking for a bit of advice, i had intended to buy an EK9 but my girlfriend of course had to burst my bubble saying the two car seats for the kids will NOT fit in.....

So I have decided to settle for a nice EK4 Saloon and have narrowed it down to 2. the links are below and id just like if anyone had any opinions on which one might be a better buy, i have contacted both owners and they will both accept 2600 for either car.. so any help/advice is greatly appreciated..

civic ek4 sir LOOK!!!! FINAL PRICE DROP for sale in Dublin : €3,000 - DoneDeal.ie

honda civic sir for sale in Mayo : €3,000 - DoneDeal.ie

first one looks dreaded

the second one is cool to check out but make sure you bring a mechanic with you.

i'd say neither are worth that money, could find better than them in my opinion

Yeh I favour the 99 one as well, the 00 one I'm guessin is 100 not genuine mileage and rear lights and wheels are Awful looking, I didn't know they came with leather seats either ?!?

The only thing I'm worried about on the 99 one is I asked the guy for rsceipts for the clutch gearbox and timing belt and he said no! Which makes me a bit sceptical! But it does look the cleaner of the two!

Does anyone know if these are they same bhp as the ek4 hatch? Can't find much info for them online

how they are worth that and mine isn't selling at £1800 is completely beyond me. if you threw £1200 at my EK4 it'd be amazing compared to that first heap....

Do u have pics of yours mate? Is it a saloon?

but 2600 euros is still just over 2 grand which seems alot for them tbh..

had a look on piston heads and auto trader theyre still goin for that kind of money in uk too, if u can find me one cheaper dont let me stop ya :D

both overpriced imo.. first one looks terrible, second one has had a gearbox rebuild :\

never rush into buyin a car mate, b patient and something good always comes up in time for a good price. i wouldn't pay over 2 grand for one of them..
just buy a ek4 or ek9 you'll manage :p

thanks for the feedback. that just seems to be the going rate for these kinda cars in ireland, only 5 for sale on all the sites i can find and those two are believe it or not the better of the 5.. i have cash burning a hole in my pocket, ive owned an ek3 an ek4vti and i own a 1.4 ek saloon at the moment.

im not sure weather id pick up a nice enough ek9 for 3200 euros at the moment so the saloon ek4 seems the best for the circumstances,

i wouldnt totally be against importing one from uk if it was clean enough and within budget, had a look on the for sales here but no ek4 saloons.

and yes elchunk, he said there was a gearbox rebuild, which makes me think has it been abused?

Welcome to the forum. The second EK4 Saloon looks better out of the two but i'd stll be a bit weary. If your local to them theres no harm in going having a look.

imo neither they look tatty.. wait on for a better one

the thing is thou that u never see many of them around in the facelift style thats a proper jap import.

i didnt think 2600 is bad because to get a standard SiR hatch in 99 youre lookin at 3000 minimum

would there be anything in particular i should be looking for when buying one of these if i do wait? and what kind of price does everyone think they should be going for?
