Charlie's B18 EG (sorry it isnt an EK)

Much respect for this one, looks fantastic with alot of effort and thought.

I love the matt black, my starlet is matt black too, sprayed it just like you did, except i primered the whole car first.

keep it up.

Strange that! Your car is a car that stands out to me. It looks tidy and track like. My fave  Great minds think a like and all that ha ha. Top time 13.7 thats my best time also. Keep repping it for the N/A's mate :nice: P.S The same times means there's a war on now ha ha :drive:

Love the work that has gone into this! It looks real stealth and im sure would give some people a shock in there new 'Gti's' etc

Is this matt black look a new craze? I saw a civic coupe on the motorway the other day with half of it sprayed matt black - he must be following this new 'trend'!

Would just like to ask - did you make the aluminium component and copper lines attached to the brake fluid reservoir?

Cheers,
Josh..

Im not to sure about the trend to be honest. I think it's still rare to see a matt car on the road. However i have seen a few more at track days etc.... Im not to sure what you mean about the aluminium component and copper lines, could you elaborate a little please?

I think he's talking about the brake lines to the master cylinder you fabricated when the ABS was removed

Amazing makes up for not being an ek

Ha Ha Everyone knows that EG's are the best so don't kid yourself (I think i may be out numbered here) lol. I like the EK's a lot. I've got a place for them in my heart, beautiful cars and i think they are the best R out the box. The only issue i have with them is they are a bit heavy and i don't do fat birds.

As for the power im not too sure to be honest, its never been on the rollers. I wouldn't imadgen it has a great deal more than standard, it may even have less as it is running on a b16a2 ecu atm. Once the hondata is on and tuned i will let you know if you are still interested.

I'm not really concerned about max power etc I just look at the 1/4 times if they are falling i am happy. :nice:

Or yer they are just normal copper brake lines ran inside the car. Nothing special there tbh just a different route and no abs :D More weight saved :)

P.S jokeshopbeard i agree with your aviator or what ever they are called ha ha. My theory is if you don't have to wear a helmet it's not a worth while sport

That looks great like
I'd love my car in matt black, but i'd never have the balls to do it :(
Looks like it should be fun on track ;)

Nice looking car the paint came out nice I like the rocker cover please keep us posted on this build

I've a lot of time for EG's and this one has been transformed into a real beast!!!

Love it

Keep up the hard work dude!!!

Loose the sunroof. They weigh a hella!

Yer i agree. Iv been keeping an eye out for a roof skin that i can put in it but they are tricky to find. I looked at the bung options but they seem to be a fortune i couldn't sleep at night if i payed that much for a piece of carbon!!!

Dont worry though all the motors switches etc for the s/r are removed. Still agree though its got to go!

Thanks to the others for the kind comments.

Im really looking forward to showing you all the motor back in but im still waiting for my shells to turn up so everything is on old atm. :((

I feel the project is at a stand still at the minute... I am waiting for my shells to turn up STILL. Once they arrive i can pritty much get the engine back together and the head on. Just found some EK9 cams off a member on here, so very excited to get them in and the engine up and running again.

Pictures to come soon. Along with videos of how she goes ha ha.

"AT LAST!"

Finally got my crank back and new bearing set so its time to start doing the engine build.

A few little bits and bobs. Crank, Bearings, Gasket, Oil pump, thread lock, brake clean and most importantly 6 cans of coke ha ha.

Here is my 'liquid crank' after the oil pump went. Its enough to make a grown man cry, never mind though thats life.

And after a little bit of elbow grease and time they are looking much better, I always feel that a clean engine is a healthy engine.

Any way im off back outside to continue cleaning and preping for the build tomorrow. Just thought i would keep you all updated. More pics of the progress tonight :nice:
