hi i just had a rolling road the other week and my car was well down in power so i decided to get a compression test done and my result wasnt to good i think. 1,2,3 cylender were 175 and the 4th was 180. I spoke to somebody who i know and he says the b16b came from the factory with 250 from all 4 pistons, bt with abit of wear they should be around 210 to 230 now. i just wanted to know if this was right or not because not many people seem to know. i havent done a wet test yetso i dont know if it would be my valve stem oil seals or not. Anyway im thinking about changing the rings and get the 81.25 oversized kit for my car, but i have 1 problem i dont know any of the torque settings for the internals of my engine does any body know this aswell?

Try it out again with a different guage. all your numbers are similar so theres no probs. but yes, numbers are low.

how much power are you making on the dyno?

how was the compression test done? Was it with the throttle completely depressed?

the service manual is available for download. At least the B18C is readily available and most, if not all of the torque values are the same.

What power did you get on the dyno? Once they are all close there is not much of a problem.

valve stem oil seals would not cause loss of compression, they are only oil seals, altho valve guids being worn could be part of the problem, the valves may not be seating correctly in the seats.
how many miles has your engine done, do you have any history?

well my car came out on the rollers at 151bhp and 126whp and 103 torque. so its well bellow all the actuall figures. does anybody know the actuall compression for the ek9..? thats what someone told me that the valve may not be sitting right because my car is burning alot of oil and you can see it and smell it when your behind me so it could either be the rings or the vavle stem oil seals. what do you think?? see my mate has a b16a and he had a compression test and on all 4 cylenders his came up with 175 so it was the same as mine so i thought there had to be something wrong.
