hi all, i recently sold my ek9 and have been considering buying a jdm dc2, just wondering how they compare. what they like as an evryday driver? mpg etc. thanks

I've had an ek9, few ek civics and 3 Integras. The ek9 and dc2 are very similar, the integra feels like a sportier car due to the lower driving position and coupe shape

The integra will have a bit more mid range power due to the b18c but mpg etc will be very similar

The integra feels more stable on high speed corners and the ek9 feels more agile and better on sharp corners imo

I didn't sell the ek9 for a dc2. I had a UK dc2 before the ek9 but it started to rust at the rear quarters so sold it on

The ek9 was a fresh import and stood me prob around 11k by the time I had modified it for trackdays so decided it was too much money to use on the track....sold it and bought an ek4 and an ATR. Still have the ek4 but have had a red jdm dc2, e46 m3 and now another jdm dc2 since then

When modifying a car for the track the cost racks up very quickly!

i much prefer the drive of the dc2 to the ek9

feels much more sporty and special

never owned a ek9 cant compare but from the ones iv driven I didnt like the seating position/steering wheels, if i were to own one id have a 320mm momo and a super low seat railand id be happy

Drove both and love both! I still prefer the Ek9. This is just my personal opinion. They are both so similar on every aspect it's just down to personal preference at the end of the day!

Wether someone says they prefer a Dc2 or an Ek9. I'm guessing it will come down to the car they drive. not every Ek9 is the same and not all Dc2s are the same. Wether it be modifications or difference in conditions. I think it would be hard to give an answer to which is the better car.

i had a 98spec dc2 and loved it. havent had the chance to drive my ek9 much but it feels pretty similar.

the b18c definitely has a bit more grunt. i dont really mind though, b16b is great as well.

reason i went for an ek9 instead of another dc2 is that i wanted something more low profile. dont get me wrong, i love the looks of an integra (when i was a kid and drew a 'race car', id pretty much draw a dc2).

ek9 just suits me more, its personal preference.

Had an ek9 and DC2 both on standard suspension drove as dailies

Absolutely adored my ek9 but drivers car would go to the DC2 IMO! It ticked all the boxes for me, raw, more poke, handled amazing had full trust in it round the bends.

Ek9 is the better daily car though, more space, comfier and not as hard on the road.

Both return similar MPG, about 300 to a tank from experience but both rev way too high on the dueller/motorway generally about 4k revs at 70mph..

Never drove an Ek9 with a B18 though...its all personal opinion

More space? Have you ever opened up the trunk of the DC2? :p I have an EK3 as daily and had a DC2 as a weekend driver, the latter had a bigger trunk for sure! But less space in the rear of course :) Kids would be fine in the rear for a longer ride, adults only if the people on the front seats make space for them :p Not much room for legs. But s I said, huge trunk.

Drove a 98 spec DC2.
Blows the EK9 away for power. This could be due to the 4.7fd gearbox though.
The cabin in the DC2 is awful though.
Best combo is EK9 with B18C and 4.7fd box.
