hey was jst wonderin is there any difference between a 98 spec b18 and a pre 98 b18.
and if there are wot r they?

the 98 spec has a little more torque and a 4.78 final drive :)

Thinkin about putin a b18 into my 9.
Do u know if all the engine mounts are all the same as the b16?
 
No they are not 1 is different but all you have to do is use your engine mount on the B18 prob solved.

Its the one mounted to the timing belt side.

Sorry that wasn't very clear.

Engine mount on the B16B has to be taken off and fitted to the B18C. ONLY 1 al others are the same.

You can stroke your B16B to a B18C with a spoon stroker kit, its going to be cheaper :secret:
 
So rvm would u recommend getting a stroker kit?
Would i feel alot more torque.
If i were to do that would I be better getting a dc2 gearbox or would ek9 1 do the job?
 
A ek9 S4C box will work fine, a good upgrade to it would be to add a aftermarket final drive. The 98+ integra S80 box with 4.7FD has a short 1st,2nd,3rd gear so it feels very quick from start going through the gears.

Yeah, if you have a good honda mechanic around your area! you'll feel more torque because you'll have like 10 to 15 more lb/ft of torque :nice:
 
this 1800cc stroker kit alone, Surley will increase HP as well as torque right? Even better with the slightly oversized pistons........?

Read it makes a very good difference in performance.....

well that's because it makes it a B18C.
 
does any1 know is u fit a stroker kit will it increase the bhp, because the dc2 has
195 bhp if im correct
 
Cors it will increase the bhp, because you will have built a b18 by stroking it!
So your BHP should be around the same as a DC2!

B16B = De-stroked B18C

Put this way with my B16B my car made 177bhp
Then with my B18c on the same dyno i made 195.8bhp

Ill post up the comparison graphs as soon as i can!

i too have a b18c in my ek9 and the difference is very noticeable.
one of my friends has an evo 8 gsr and from a rolling start my car is faster all the way upthrough the gears even at 150 mph +

Whats the spec on your b18c and is the evo stock?
I'm saving to turbo my 9 at the moment, but keep hearing good things about the b18c conversions:)

I too have a mate with a Evo X FQ300 (stock)
He came round to mine to show me his new car when mine was still a b16 & he was taking the piss out of my 9!:angry:
So i put a challenge down, when i got my B18 fitted i wanted a race!
Well he got the shock of his life, well to be honest i was a bit shocked too!
Cos from a standing start i was slowly but surely pulling away!
Pour guy spending £30,000 & still cant keep up with my little civic! lol:drive:
