Hi Everyone

Just want to know a little more about the EK before buying one, 8 month ago I did had a ITR JDM 2000 TypeRx, it was fun but hard to live with.

What do you love or hate about your EK9?

CJ

Mine's a daily driver untill the weather gets a bit warmer, I walked to work today for the first time this year:D

EK9 will be really similar to the ITR, what was it about it that you found it hard to live with? My EK9 is comfier than my old EP3, EP3's 6th gear was nice for motorways but that was the only advantage..

mines a daily driver, i work for a car rental company and still love jumping in mine after a hard to make the journey home

i know what you mean about finding a itr hard to deal with every day, i think it depends what sort of every day driving you do what sort of roads you use, where you work and so on. finding somewhere suitable to park away from careless people can be hard.

it only gets hard to live with everyday if you put stiff suspension, stiff clutch, etc... otherwise it should be VERY liveable in stock form, remember DC2 iirc is very loud on the inside due to its lack of tar on the floor boards i am not 100% sure but i believe the ek9 still has this tar so its a bit quieter.

What do you mean by 'hard to live with'?

For me I love everything about the car except my seatbelts...they are always twisted!

i walk to work most days but use ma 9 at night do not hate one thing about this car its the best car i have bought and there have been a few from evo's to skylines' gt4' the list goes on would say the ek9 is the best i have bought and i will be in no hurry to change :)

Mines a daily driver too, and no problems what so ever:). Its alot comfier than my previous car ( starlet turbo, that was on d2 coilovers).
The only problem I find, as said above is parking it somewhere safe at times, depending on what area I'm in.

I used my ek9 as a daily drive when it was a stock, beautiful car, the suspension was stiffer than other cars, but it was very confortable even with bumpy roads , it is a great option for economy, I was able to make like 50 km per gallon.

The only bad thing, is that in my country we all use left hand drives hehehe, so It was a pain in the ass going to Macdonald's auto service lol

Some may not be used to the large rear anti-roll bar that promotes oversteer, especially in the rain.
Also the faster you go on the highway, the louder the car gets but it's only gets to you if you have a loud exhaust. This is because it has a pretty short 5th gear in comparison to other cars.

This can be fixed easily. Switching the way the seatbelt mounts will not help BTW.
What you do is put a long fold in the seatbelt (twisted to the way you want the buckle to end up) and work the buckle up through the folded belt. This can be done easier with two people, one to push the buckle and one to hold the fold flat.

Mine is an everyday car also :drive:

The only hate is that everybody wants to race you! :angry2:

Thanks for all reply, I never like the UK EP3, the car just don't feel right & can't get it in CW + if the EK9 is more comfier that the EP3, than JDM CW EK9 is the car.:D

yep yep!!!

like iv said before, owning an ek9 is like being a pornstar. everyone wants a shot!!

daily driver, with coilovers, currently doing 500-520 miles per week, and i love it! its the only honda civic id have, its a superb car, the drive is very good, and im very biased to rear wheel drive

yeah only had mine for just under a week and use it every day. I drive busses for a living as well and even after driving for 8-9 hours jumpin into the 9 still makes me smile lol :nice:

Not an EK9 but a B16A2 swapped EJ6 and I daily it (don't have a choice, it's my only car). Pretty much no sound deadening but it's not a bother TOO much. My exhaust is loud but doesn't really bother me much, even on the Interstate at 75MPH. My ride is actually pretty smooth compared to my old daily thanks to the 1-1 1/2" drop springs (old car was riding on stiff coilovers on a 2" or so drop). No P/S but not a bother since I'm used to it. Seats are in a comfortable position and I have an armrest from an EM1 so I'm good.

I do miss some things from my daily. I miss power windows kinda bad honestly. I'm thinkin of pull some doors off an EJ6 or EM1 coupe and covertin mine to power windows. I also miss the sunroof (which was powered too). The power mirrors were novelty really. I'm good without them. Also the biggest thing I miss was that it was an EJ1 (I love EJ1's still) and for some reason a chick magnet. Girls liked the clean, "cute" coupe but don't like the swapped ragged hatch :(
