ej9 non abs proportioning valve??

Hi sorry to bring this up but a lot of confusion between uk and us models. Have converted a ej9 with non abs to bigger discs all round. Front disks were 260mm and it did have rear drums. Converted it now to 280mm front discs and 260mm rear disks without abs.
What ratio proportioning valve is originally in the car (where does it say ratio)?

What proportioning valve do i need?

As it has no abs proportioning valve needs 6 flanges. Units with abs use 4 flanges as 2 lines go into the abs unit itself and then back out to the front brakes instead of through the valve.

You need a 40/40 prop valve

I sourced a non ABS one for my EK9 when I removed the ABS, it came off a US civic Si. does not matter if it's a RH or LH drive car, you can just flip it and it will fit

Ebay search for civic proportioning and you should find one

40/40 is the ratio for rear disc models

Does not matter what car it is, all the rear disc prop valves have the same proportioning split, it's just the master cylinder size which is bigger on the EK9 to push more fluid through for the larger calipers

Rear drum models, pretty sure they are 40/20 or something like that

If you can then also upgrade the master cylinder to the EK9 1" type, will give you a fair bit less pedal travel than the standard EJ9 effort

Just ordered the civic si prop valve. It looks exactly the same externally as the ej9 prop valve with rear drums.
Can anyone confirm they are different internally?

As I mentioned, they are 100% different internally!

Rear drum models require less proportioning to the rear brakes, simple as that hence why the valves are proportioned differently

If that is what you are using any 96-00 USDM civic hatchback will also work as it is the same prop valve as USDM 99-00 civic si
