some nice updates there mate ur certainly ploughing on with trying to get it finished :) i remember when i bought my vsm ek9 shell from john(j700ock) on the forum, spent every minute of the day on it for 2 months, had to be the quickest build haha wish i had taken my time on it though as i would have appreciated the car a lot more

PHEW !!!!
just finsihed reading the whole thread.. * and breath * lol...

Great work on this mate, very determind indeed. attention to detail is second to none. sorry to hear about problems ... we all get them dude.
good to see you getting on with it. this will be a dream civic once finished.

yeah it's taking longer than i'd hoped due to my dads cars taking priority so it's just been part collecting since the last update which is a bit of a pain but i guess it's got to be done as they are dailly drivers and theres no way in hell i'm letting my mum loose in the scooby lol

took 2 weeks off work since monday to get some work done on it and had a bit of a setback. the shell is supposed to have been in for the engine bay to be painted ages ago but the guy i was going to use managed to drill through his hand while lining up a panel on a mini so he's going to be out of it for the next few months
Found someone else to do it and now the tow car (my dads 530D) just lunched it's turbo on sunday after spending nearly 2 weeks of time after work replacing, rear springs dampers, topmounts, coupla suspension arms, a drop link, discs and pads all round, water pump, thermostat, and egr thermostat plus a service and an air-con pipe and re-gas. to say i'm gutted is an understatement as this means unless i can find a tow car in the meantime it's going to be next week before i can get it there (new turbo turned up from turbo technics today so yet more time spent on the 5 instead of my 9 till thats done) GRR!!

cheers :) it means a lot to me just really wish i had another garage to keep my stuff in as my parents use the garage as a dump and i keep having to haul boxes and bags of crap (not actual crap lol) out to make it so i can actually get in and work on it.

Hey dude mental thread! :) well done for sticking with it because as said you will be so satisfied when its all done! going to be totally mint! Some amazing parts there! :) mind I still have that Slave cylinder if you need it? I will just drive throo with it if you want as I wouldnt mind having a look at the project so far! :)

Good Luck with the rest!

Looking gooooood.... Nice to see my old spoon hoses been put to good use. :nice:

haha, yeah man i keep all my parts and extra's and bits i've striped from my car :) in my pegeot 106 lol. Its my parts bin.. Its full completely but just sits on the drive so its my shed really lol...

Sounds like a mission with your dad's 530 :((

I only read this thread from the start just now, you were f***ed over with the sale! You would have been so much better off not buying but you did! I think your owed credit for hanging onto it and coming this far! You put a lot of work in and its payed off! Fair play to you! :))

loving the attention to detail..

this car has def been given a second life..

What a epic build m8. As for all the haters there's always going to be people sticking up for there m8z but if they were in ur shoes it would be different however u still should have checked everythink in fine detail don't just go for it because of a few tasty mods. I'd rather buy a reliable standard car rather than a modded unreliable smoker. I understand exactly what point your make bud. Can't wait for more updates.

right so some slow progress. (no bonus or overtime going at work so money is really slowing this down.)

Got the majority of my suspension powdercoated.. some of it will need to have the coating removed like the hub faces but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. will be building up the coilovers this week and painting the callipers and carriers (still not sure what colour to go with)
anyways i'll let the pics do the talking

trip to the powdercoaters with this lot
