EK9 Being pushed to its limits around a mini Track


I'm not sure if that's a genuine EK9, as it's left hand drive....unless it has been coverted obviously.
Still, seems to handle quite nicely round there, and the lads definitely chucking it about.
 
Wow i need to know what suspension setup this guy is using haha.
 
Here in the philippines they have a lot of left hand drive ek9. Mine is 1 of this kind.. hehe..
 
Anyone notice he seems to have pushed his engine to the limit also. ??

footage from 0:50 - 1:00 shows a cloud of smoke trailing behind his car. lol.

persoanlly i think the ride height looks a little lower than standard suspension. could just be springs he has added. sure does Cock its leg though lol.
 
I just realized its a left hand! Looking through the polish comments, i found this:

"Engine B18C6, remap ECU P28 by GRAFIXautozine.pl, gearbox S80, suspension OEM"

answers some questions! :)

I couldnt make mine turn in that quick at all. I have a ek9 steering rack but with closed loop lines to make it manual. Its doesnt feel like it reacts that quickly to be able to turn in to the corners as fast as that guy.
 
he's good at setting the car up for a flick after the chicanes, not many can do it in a fwd car :nice:

+1.. this is also a great video to really see suspension do its work! Although im sure the tire choice had a decent role in his performance too! You can see him shifting the weight really cleverly as he's approaching turns..

Great driving IMO, watched this like 3x now.

hes using the throttle to adjust turn in.
 
I advise those people with OEM suspension to go and throw their car around an empty car park.. I think you will be amazed at how much grip the car has its so easy to throw it around like this guy and use the throttle to make the car go where you want it. Don't be scared to hammer about in them. EK9's are made to be driven hard..

With OEM suspension the car is so easily chuckable. I honestly think so many members fit Coilovers to their car's and don't even drive them hard enough to find the limit of the OEM suspension, let alone some coilovers..
 
I think the 9's coilovers from the factory are superb.
