Thanks! had a look at your ek9 very impressive for a b16b, this site makes me want an ek9 badly!

It was a healthy b16b tbh and a few guys at straightliners mentioned that they hadn't came across a b16b that went as well on the 1/4 mile when I was up against them. Wish I never sold my ek9 either but I have an ek4 trackcar to make up for it

Out of interest how much would you be looking for the dc5? I'm currently selling an e46 m3 and looking for a slightly cheaper replacement

oh you don't have the ek9 anymore? i just looked at your thread and presumed it was recent!
its on donedeal!

question for you- How does it compare to your old ek9? Always nice to hear opinions.

Very nice car mate, Hope to be in the market for a nice dc5 in a few months, hope i can find one as clean as this!

It has alot more torque and power, the ek9 wouldnt touch the dc5, taking off maybe ek9 wouldnt spin as much, but 3rd 4th and 5th in the dc5 pulls like a train! a bit more comfort, modern inside, the handling is not as good i don't think but not far behind, this car gets alot more attention than my ek9 and its not louder or anything! i think its handier than the ek9 on petrol too,75euro to fill it and my best was 600kms thats with easy driving to and from work, usually about 550kms to a tank thats with a bit of spirited driving! other things that dont favour it is, high tax, tyres expensive,215,45,17, parts for the K series are expensive, like the tegiwa gruppe m rep intake for e.g. mad money!
overall its a very nice car and ive enjoyed driving it, when i was buyin everyone was sayin ek9 i way rawer etc, the dc5 revs just as hard, and a serious bang off the vtec crossover! which i didnt expect!
Thats my honest opinion!

Thanks, best of luck with your search! clean ones are becoming rare the same as ek9,s i looked at a few and this one was the only one that didnt look as if it had a hard life even though the kms were high it was cleaner than any other ones!

Have you got it long? Looks pretty similar to a one that was in Gorey a few months ago, think its sold now. All the clean ek9s are hiding in sheds now i think

wheres gorey i bought it off a fella called daniel, he actually used to have a lovely ek9, hes a member on her Daniel_ek9 hes from carlow iirc!
you just have to pay for a good one, just need this sold and then im game!

Goreys in Wexford, not a million miles away from Carlow really, Ya i guess thats true, you get what you pay for!

thanks for the reply, I hope to be in the market for one in the future:nice:

Sorry to totally hijack the thread, but what sort of times did you get at straightliners? And was it in enniskillen?

It was at st. Angelo airport, there was a strong head wind that day so we have done better times in the past but it was a 14.1 on that day

FWD Hondas are not great for drag racing as you cant launch them but its all just a bit of fun :nice:

I'm not an ek9 super fanboy by any means, but I had a 30-100 with a mate with a DC5 - resulted in a car length difference maybe? there was not that much in it. Things were pretty standard in both cars bar IME and was down to the weight i think.

But I would have a DC5 over a 9 any day of the week standard for standard.
:nice:

i dont know, not bragging or claiming but my dc5 is known to be a healthy, fast one for whats done to it, i had similar mods done to my ek9 and i think the dc5 would,ve whipped it! very hard to tell unless you have the two cars side by side or whatever!
