approximately 30 pounds :angry2:

Yeah, but with no a/c or power steering on a daily drive, you will be IN PAIN man, tell me I suffer that for like 6 months lol :angry2:

My EJ6 don't have AC, power steering, power window, radio and front speaker...and this is a real pain for a daily drive :angry2:
but tomorrow is going to be my first track day...hope will turn out good:)

How much do the rear seats weigh in at? I will be getting rid of these as they are black and the rest of the interior is red?!?

I saved 25Kg In my Ibiza by removing the rear seats

Hmmmm, rear seats are not that heavy, but you can save up like 10 - 12 pounds the most by removing them :(

Well might as well do it... better than nothing! :D thats if you dont want more than one other person in your car...

Before I removed the seats, I never used them :p

LOL I have not had rear seat in my Ibiza for like nearly a year now! not like I would miss anything not having them in there :p

Bring on the EK9 CTR :D

Mike

i rather enjoy not having rear seats, i always HATED having more than 1 passenger.

Best way to be!! Not only that if your car is really low.... one more reason to get rid of them!

people always go about the lighter ek9, honda aimed at lowering weight (im referring to standard model and not race base here) but there are that many additions on ek9 to ek4 that lot of weight was also added

lsd
recaros (much heavier than ek4 seats)
rear lower tie bar
rear strut behind bumper
larger brake discs and calipers
larger diameter exhaust
not sure what addiotional welding ek9 has but it adds weight
rear spoiler is heavier than ek4
front and rear lip

probably more items i cant remember now

When I stripped out my EK4 I weighed everything, only differences there will be are the leather rear seats whereas the CTR are cloth. Here's the list:

Rear Seat bench - 5.6kg (12.3lb)
Rear Seat Backrests - 11.1kg (24.4lb)
Side Plastic's from front door to boot - 2.6kg (5.7lb) each
Plastic panel in boot at latch - 500g (1.1lb)
Plastic boot-hatch cover (inside) - 1kg (2.2lb)
Boot floorboard covering sparewheel - 2.5kg (5.5lb)
Boot Cover (top) - 3.3kg (7.3lb)
Rear Speakers - 2.5kg each (5.5lb)
Plastic Speaker covers - 250g each (0.5lb)
Jack - 2.3kg (5lb)
Spare Wheel - 13.1kg (29lb)
Rear Passenger Foot Matt - 2kg (4.4lb)
Front Matt's 1.5kg (3.3lb) each

Total Weight saving - 55.1kg or 121lb (KG x 2.2 = POUNDS)

I've done some weight reduction on my EK4 Jordan, and one thing that those of you with EK4s can concider is the rear wiper at 2.2lbs! (EK9 doesn't have it, so neither does the Jordan!) Also the parcel shelf, I can't remember how much that weighs, but it IS heavy!
I also removed the sound deadening, but I didn't want to ditch the limited edition Jordan interior, so I kept it!
