EK9 Rare in Japan now!


They've been rare as hell in Japan for a while now. And Hong Kong too...
 
I looked at a ek9 on A website the spec was unreal only had 2989 kms I worked it out to be 17,000 pounds that's new car money lol, crazy pricing tbh I love the ek9 scene but not that much. I would have thought the ek9 in Japan is like a ep3 over here, obviously not lol
 
When I was looking at the auctions for my fd last month I checked the listings, there was about two- three pages of 9's.

The problem is that the youngest 9 is going to be twelve years old and as soon as you start to mod it becomes an R any ways.

I wouldn't say 9's are any more rare than another 12 year old performance car that is in top condition with all standard parts.

When I also checked the listings for the dc5 there must have been at least 5 pages full of them and about 3 pages of dc2's

I thought ek9 were only made for the japanese market only so there wuld be less of them anyway
 
Yes they were only in the Japanese market.

But that's not the point I was making,It would be the same with a import 99 mr2,supra,integra.

There just dieing off due to age the same as other cars of the same age. There are still many to be bought though.So I can't see our price's shooting up, the demand just isn't there.

The original point i was making was out of 28,000 cars for sale there was no ek9's!

I had seen posts saying the same but this stat i thought was worth mentioning.

Just had a look. There are 3 9's on the auction list, 10 dc2's and 15 dc5.

It is currently quater past ten at night in Japan so there should be more listed tomorrow.
 
Smile.jv seems to have quite a few.


Think alot of them have been exported from Japan due to how quickly they go through cars? Hardly any old ones about from what i heard.

An interesting thought is that most probably somewhere in the world is an EK9 locked away with only delivery miles on it.
 
cars in japan are still making the prices they were 10 years ago here in ireland, there nearly dearer standard as there not abused but if i was ever getting one in it would have to be a kanjo racer spec one :) keep checking yahoo,not much ever comes up for ek9 just type in civic
